We read all the reviews on this site after we had booked this hotel and therefore had quite a low expectation! In practice we found the hotel very good, certainly much better than expected. With 2 adults and 2 young children we booked a family room. This turned out to be more like a suite with a large double room,... more

This hotel costs over £100 / night and you will be sorely disappointed if you stay. The rooms look like they haven't been decorated in 30 years, the bed was about the same age, the bed clothes (1 sheet, 1 blanket?) maybe older, the bathroom basic, the windows practailly falling out they banged so much all night. Awful. The pictures... more

Went there on a business trip with another colleaue and 4 German doctors. The hotle is shabby with dated room decor. Carpets are ill fitting in corridors; surely an accident waiting to happen. Room was very hot as we stayed in a rare warm period, but opening the windows meant all night we heard loud seaguls. Had a conference room... more

After reading other reviews on this hotel we decided to look elsewhere. The trouble is that Hove and Brighton have a massive problem with lack of parking space, and trying to book somewhere with parking only 4 days ahead proved virtually impossible unless you wanted to spend £160 upwards a night. Courtlands offers parking and is in a good position... more

Stay clear of this hotel. It claims to be 3*, the price was 4* and the standard was pushing 2*. If booking accommodation for myself I always consult Trip Advisor first and only stayed at this hotel as part of a Silver wedding anniversary party which was being held on site. My boyfriend and I have stayed in a number... more

Sent to this hotel by the Ramada Jarvis when they overbooked their rooms. My Partner and I asked to see the room before we checked in since they demanded payement up front. After being taken by a Porter up in the lift down some stairs, up more stairs and down some stairs to get the room. The room was so... more

I stayed in The Courtlands for one night (it was recommended to me by a local business contact) and I have never been so pleased to leave somewhere the following morning! The first room I was given stank of cigarette smoke (despite being non-smoking) and had the general air of something having died in there. I asked to change rooms... more

Comparisons can be made between this hotel and other establishments in which rooms and services are for hire if you know what I mean. Enough said, hopefully you will read this and choose to go elswhere. more

Our first impression of the place - when we arrived in taxis to find a woman (who it later transpires works at the hotel) literally screaming in the street, swearing at another guest about very lewed things - was terrible. In addition, we were told to store our bags in a room (with lots of junk) which clearly blocked the... more

we have recently had a wedding reception at courtlands hove, and have found the management misleading, uncareing, and disinterested in our problems. My daughter was left crying on her wedding evening because of there failure to deliver what they had promised. I have to say their staff were amazing especially paul the bar manager who souhld be given the maangers... more
