this hotel is on the sea front which makes you think great location - beware of this - whilst it is very central for Brighton Centre and many other attractions it is also smack bang in the middle of all the rowdy bars and nightclubs - we had a room which overlooked the Walkabout bar (Aussie pub) anyone who has... more

The Umi hotel in Brighton is right on the seafront and a perfectly functional hotel for enjoying the nightlife of Brighton. It is a good price for the location and a good option for stag and hen do's The room we had was fairly large and clean, although some of the decor in the communal areas was a bit shabby.... more

We - Austrian family with 7 year old grandson - found the hotel pleasant and location 1A. Nothing to complain about. Requested vegetarian breakfast was served - another plus. Very recommendable if you go to Brighton, especially fifth floor executive room! more

Convenient as on sea front. Staff polite. Room very small for two people but clean and well fitted. Only problem was room looked onto dirty inner courtyard and five storey brick wall with sky only visible if you hung out of window, and heating/cooling machines kept loud hum all night so we had to have window closed to sleep and... more

OUCH - The memories ! Was welcomed by a tiny revolving door that didn't revolve, it lead into a musty, stale reception area that was in desperate need of a makeover - Receptionists were OK. There was one tired tiny lift that could only fit 2 people, seemed like it was 100 years old. We booked an 'Executive Suite' for... more

This wasn't our first choice of hotel but I am so glad we ended up there. Location was great, on the sea front, near shopping centre and The Lanes. We arrived 1 hour before 3.00pm, check in time but allowed up to our room. Rooms very clean plenty of tea and coffee etc. Large bathroom, very clean, with heated towel... more

I travelled with my girlfriend and stayed 3 nights b 'n b. We found the staff courteous and friendly and the room was clean and airy, including a comfy bed. The power shower was very welcome and the wi~fi worked fine. The view was great, looking right out to sea. Needless to say, the location is fantastic, being a stone's... more

Having read some of the earlier reviews on TripAdvisor, I wasn't expecting great things. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly upon check in, the hotel was clean and tidy and the room was clean and surprisingly spacious. There were things that left a little to be desired, and that were simply baffling - the shower head,... more

This is a difficult hotel to review; it seemed to me to be a demoted 4 star hotel; a lot of the fixtures and fittings, staff etc would match what i would expect in a regional 4 star. However this hotel is let down by the smaller details. The revolving front door is awful, the lift has seen better days,... more

Luckily the hotel had spaces the night before Gay Pride so I had come at a busy time and felt quite lucky to have secured a double room at £90 approx. But I can see why this hotel had spaces when every other hotel was fully booked. The room was OK, apart from the hair matted carpet and no complimentary... more
