Walking into the reception area is quite impressive. You look through to a windowed wall with a terrific view of the water; nice chandelier and reception area. Then...you get to your room, noticing the threadbare carpet up the huge staircase. The room is furnished with castoffs from a 2nd-hand store (wood furniture stained with water rings, broken drawers, etc.) with... more

After reading the reviews I was actually dreading our stay. But when we got there I was suprised. I was expecting alot worse! It wasnt the greatest hotel but there was nothing terrible about it either. Rooms were clean (Although a little hot!), We even had a jacuzzi bath which I wasnt expecting! Breakfast was great with plenty of it... more

I booked this hotel through a travel website, and it was not cheap £90 for bed and breakfast. I had paid half that in a hotel in Bournemouth the previous week which was twice as good! The hotel is obviously featured on some website for people organising stag and hen nights as there appeared to be a large number of... more

I have a feeling that the only people who write reviews on this site are those who have either had an amazing experience, or those who have had a poor experience. I booked this hotel for a friend and I prior to reading reviews - in the same way as I did for another hotel that has been slated by... more

Stayed here as a conference guest. I'm struggling to justify the star rating of the hotel - I've stayed in worse places, but not by much. The good: friendly, polite staff, who were all Eastern European as far as I could tell, which probably explains the decent service. The location of the hotel is great, and my room had a... more

We were disappointed with this hotel. We chose it because we liked the idea of it and plus the availability. We arrived late on a Friday night and they had no record of our booking. Staff fairly rude about this but fortunately we had printed a copy. Got a double room on 4th floor. Opened door and was hit by... more

We booked this last minuet as we are building contractors so we did not expect the ritz but being a so called 4 star had high expectations. First impresion ok but a bit old fashioned but the room was grim. Beds wafer thin and small, carpets thred bare .But the worst was the windows draughts made the room cold and... more

Disgusted, and amazed come to mind! We checked in ( which straight away showed an indifferent set of staff, no welcome). having read other reviews we were tempted not to stay here, although we had great friends staying there so felt obliged to stay). The room, a double room on 5th floor at first looked tired but acceptable, where to... more

After reading the reviews, I actually started to feel nauseous as we drew up to the hotel. Much to my surprise it was fine - clean, decent food, fantastic location. The hotel is a little on the shabby side but if it was brought up to the standard of a grand seaside hotel the price to stay there would be... more

I think most of the things ive read from the reviews on the albion i can vouch for as its terrible and filthy , the bed sheets were clean and the towels and that was it ! probably due to them being cleaned by a un-related laundry company ! the ceiling down a whole corridor was coming in from a... more
