I stayed at this hotel on 26th May 2012, with my 10 year old daughter, and I would have given this a rating of 0 if that had been possible. The most serious issue with this room was the LIVE ELECTRICAL CABLE that had been ripped out of the television and left dangling. This could quite easily have killed either... More

The hotel was in need of a total refurbishment. Rooms were shabby and worn and the fittings were all cheap, broken, dirty, faded, stained and unpleasant. Windows so filthy that it was impossible to see out and the balcony door had no handle and was nailed shut! The dining room resembled a school canteen. There were very few staff in... More

I have stayed in many hotels in Brighton, I say either I was very lucky with my stay or ignore all the bad reviews. I paid around £70 for 1 night stay on a Friday, quite a standard price in Brighton. The location of the hotel is awesome, right in the centre and on the seafront opposite the pier. Check... More

This hotel is definately the 4 star stated. We paid £100 for a tiny room with patchy, dirty walls with filler around the door frames. There were paint splashes on the carpet and curtains. The aircon did not work meaning the room was scortching hot. There was a night club smoking area underneath our window meaning there was loud bass... More

Most of Brighton was booked up on this particular night apart from the well positioned Royal Albion. At first glance it looks an impressive building right next to the pier and in a central position for all Brighton has to offer. But that's where the good points ended. The room was poor for a £170 room. the curtains didn't fit,... More

Do not even consider staying at this hotel, you would be more comfortable sleeping on the beach. The staff are extremely rude and incompetent, with no idea about customer service. The rooms were noisy, unclean and the toilet had to be pumped to flush. It was very hot throughout the hotel, no air-conditioning and some windows were sealed with paint.... More

We actually stayed here in August 2010 and should have realised how bad this would be as it was very cheap but I just thought we had a good deal! It is such a shame as this is a lovely building in a great location and could be fantastic with some TLC and a complete change of management! Even though... More

Please do not waste your money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Friends of mine were actually on their honeymoon and the room they were given was filthy and disgusting. There were hairs on the pillow and the bathroom had not been cleaned in days with shaving foam up the wall. Needless to say the bride was in... More

I can't believe this hotel charges extra for a so-called jacuzzi bath... they should offer protective suits to wear before you get into their baths. Having travelled to developing countries, it is appalling to count this hotel as the most dire, with appalling customersservice and room conditions.

After reading all the recent reviews we were a little apprehensive about our two day break. But in all honesty we found the staff to be very accommodating and pleasant. Yes we agree with other reviews that the hotel is very dated and in need of some refurbishment, our room had a sea view and was very clean. The breakfast... More
