Room was dirty. There was dust in all but the centre of the room. Bath had a hole in the top with tape to cover it. Holes is walls (size of your hand) had been filled in but rough plaster still showing and no wall paper in the area. Lamp shade was filthy. Sheets were not changed throughout the week.... More

I can't even say this was cheap and cheerful. If you pay peanuts I expect basics but this want that cheap. It is very very dated and needs modernising, room is basic with basic old tv with minimal channels and the whole place is falling apart. No air con in room. Wouldn't recommend or stay here again. One plus point... More

The hotel was outdated, untidy and cold. It smelt of damp and regularly had very unsavoury individuals hanging around outside. The dinners were basic and often cold. Everything during happy hour was house spirits. The beds are very basic and the furniture looked very retro... not in a good way. I spent the whole time looking out for her 👇

I wouldn't even rate this hotel 1 star. We paid £170 for 2 nights. We arrived and the reception was good, however the 2 members of staff didn't really know what they were talking about. We went up to our room and couldn't believe the state of the corridors. Damp, mould, wallpaper falling off and water pouring through the walls... More

We nearly didn't come because of previous trip advisor reviews but really glad we have. Okay so the place has been storm damaged and in places a bit worn, however management are truelly apologetic and working hard to get repairs completed. On arrival we had a really warm and informative greeting. We started our stay on a Groupon deal which... More

We purchased our night on groupon so understandably we prepared ourselves for the worse. We'd only paid £89 including wine - meal - room It was worse than I'd prepared: Black mould Flaking off paint Stained bedding and curtains Filthy carpet Seriously rust radiators Damp patches Paint smell Terribly dated - damaged furniture Water thin stained mattress Stained pillows Honestly... I have just returned from a 5 day break and can't wait to go back! My first room allocated to me was unsuitable due to my mobility needs - no worry - a member of staff changed it for me and the room I was given was great. Every member of staff, beit reception; bar; restuarant and room cleaning teams... More

I picked the Royal Albion Hotel for 2 reasons; 1 - It's location and 2 - the cost suggested it should be one of the better Hotels in Brighton. I was so wrong!! Although the location was great and standard of the hotel was appalling. By far the worse hotel experience. Old dilapidated building which had a very unpleasant smell!... More

We booked this hotel for a single night stay. Worst thing we ever did, what a dump. Got to fron dest to find just 1 staff member to check guest in. Got to room, no air con and worst to come no window that could be opened. It was like a stream room inside, we dropped bags and left for... More

First room I was given smelt of must and damp, carpets stained and in parts black with a mouldy growth on it, after a couple of hours another room was found, sealant around bath and skirting looked as if it had been put on by a blindfolded drunkard , view was of a concrete chute, although room was better than previous...
