We were given this stay as a gift. Will never go there again!!! Room small and dingy overlooking tower block and air-con units. We have had better travellodge rooms. Couldn't wait to get home. more

The lobby of the hotel is amazing and the check in staff wonderful. We booked in faster than any other hotel I can think of. Our room was on the very top floor with a sea view. The size of the room would please anyone and the bathroom just as good. This is a very old hotel in need of... more

Having to wait until childcare arrangements were confirmed meant that my girlfriend and I had to book our accommodation for our night in Brighton only days before. This meant that by the time we started to search for a room there seemed to be only one left in the whole city... at The Grand. At £190 it was about £50... more

We stayed here for two nights and found that it is perfectly located, overlooking beach and pier, in the heart of Brighton. The hotel is an impressive classic building with a beautiful staircase, a nice bar and terrace. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also, there was sufficient staff so we didn't have to wait (at check in, porters, breakfast, etc)... more

We took 4 days at the Grand at a special rate ( 50%) . The standard room on the 4th floor had a frosted glass barely openable window - unpleasantly and cell like - we hit a heatwave and the cooling machine was primitive and useless. The very helpful manageress moved us to an identical room with a clear glass... more

Inevitably vast and slightly impersonal, but a spectacular building in a splendid location. I found my room slightly noisy in the morning, and the bar was expensive (even the staff laughed when I declined the offer of a glass of very ordinary-looking Chablis at £14 a glass), overall perfectly respectable in in some ways quite fun. more

I booked the De Vere Grand Brighton for a birthday weekend getaway and we really enjoyed staying there. The hotel very kindly put us in a sea facing room with loads of space, comfy bed, en suite etc. All the staff were more than happy to help which was a refreshing change from some other hotels I've stayed in. I... more

A classic hotel that, I could tell, had seen better days, but still retained most of its glory. Set right on the beach road, this large landmark is lavish, though some of the touches have lost their sheen. But, then again, I felt that way pretty much about the whole of Brighton…so I wasn’t really put off by the lack... more

We stayed at the Grand for a wedding anniversary celebration. We booked direct with the Hotel and asked for 3 seaview rooms. All rooms were great - mine was a standard room on the 4th floor and had been decorated within the last 12 months and the bathroom was very up to date. It was divine to wake up and... more

May is a strange month in England. It can be warm, it can be cold, but overall you wouldn't class May as a Summer month...yet at the Grand, the heating in our suite was switched off as it is "Summer now Sir!" The small asthmatic fan heater they sent up needed to be left on in each room with the... more
