Having read awful reviews, I was seriously considering not even turning up, but do - if you're not too fussy a person. Yes, it's an old building in need of overall update but it's a fab location and I was greated by friendly lady. Reception area was painted nicely. I asked to see my room first and yes small and... I spent 1 night at the Sandalwood Hotel as I was seeing a band in Brighton. The positives were the price and the location, the negatives are as follows ! The hotel advertises parking at £5 per night, which I requested when booking, however upon arrival I was informed they only have 2 parking spaces so I had to park... More

My friends and I just needed rooms for the night in Brighton, we booked this hotel and THEN read the reviews. We began to worry but gave it a chance.... We were greeted by polite staff, however the smell of the place was quite potent. Then we made our way to the rooms on a very dated staircase which wasn't... More

Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else. Noisy, dirty, reminiscent of grotty student digs. It may be "cheap" for a Saturday night but the lesson learned here is spend a bit more money and book somewhere else. It would be hard to find anywhere worse.

Booked to join another group of friends. None of us had read the reviews and it was the only available hotel on a Saturday night. The two of us Paid £140 (no breakfast) for a tiny room with three narrow old single beds (you had to remember not to turn over or you would fall out of the bed!) The... More

Words cant describe how disgusting this place is upon arrival we was gave our room keys by a polish bloke who couldnt speak a word of english. I was staying in brighton whilst working away (i work in construction so am used to a bit of dirt, but this takes it to a whole new level). The sheets were absolutely... More

To cut a long story short we thought we were staying in a DSS establishment. It appeared that the occupant had moved out in order to accommodate us but had neglected to clean the room. Without doubt this is my worst 'hotel' experience...ever.

Nothing particularly wrong with the hotel, it's basic and just in need of more attention to detail, considering what they charge for a saturday night stay (£115). The plus points being close to the sea, and it was a quick walk to our friend's place. It was clean but the blinds were broken and the shower was terrible!
