We recently stayed at the Radisson Blu (Royal York) Hotel in Brighton for a weekend. We booked in to the hotel on the Friday evening after taking a considerable time to find parking, although we knew that this was a problem in Brighton. On first glance our room on the second floor seemed ok and we settled in for the... more

I booked this hotel for a weekend away. We had previously stayed at the Grand when visting Brighton, but the Radisson Blu looked relatively smart in its marketing photos and seemed good value for money. The reality is that it's a poorly designed and rather depressing hotel and although it's obviously had a little money spent on refurbishing it, you... more

Booked this through lastminute.com under 'top secret hotels'. Know it's always chancy but can be kind of fun. After reading the reviews we checked in with trepidation. I had asked for 2 beds as I was travelling with my 15 year old daughter. They told me that in the entire hotel there are no rooms with 2 beds! Stunning. However... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in oktober 2009. Welcoming and helpful staff. Nice resturant and good food, specialising on sea-food. The hotel in a building from 1771 has recently been renovated. Public spaces and room were clean and nice. The room was furnished with new or re-upholstered period furniture. The bed was comfortable with quality bedlinnen. Bathroom in a modern... more

We stay in Brighton most weekends, but recently we could not stay at the Grand (our usual favourite) because of the Labour Party conference. I booked the Radisson Blu (or the Royal York, as it is also known) not having read the reviews here, so when I checked here, I was worried our stay would be a disaster. However, we... more

Stayed at this hotel Friday just gone, Read the very very bad reviews and was slightly put off but as we had stayed there last Sept when the hotel was still The Royal York and not yet the Radisson we decided that we would give it another go. We stayed in room 312 which is the disabled room ( on... more

We ended up staying here as all of the other major hotels were booked out due to conferences. I should have taken a hint from that. Upon arriving and getting to my room, the room was extremely hot. I called down and asked for someone to come up and check the a/c. The person at the desk said they would... more

Well, I am sitting here in room 111 right now, after staying for 5 of my 7 days. I thought I would really get to know everything before I wrote a not-very-complimentary review. So, let's get started: First of all, the location is truly exquisite. You literally could not have a better location in Brighton. This is absolutely precisely central... more

I ensured I checked out the reviews on trip before leaving as I knew this has been categorised as the 2nd worst hotel in Brighton, and ensured I had a Park view room on a higher floor (room 311) - first impressions were good as we walked toward the Royal York (its an old Victorian building Radisson have done up),... more

The Radisson SAS management should shut this hotel down immediately before it further tarnishes their reputation. I've stayed with Radisson Blu on business in Zurich and Berlin and had a very good experience in both. This hotel is not in the same class. What's good? 1) The location is very central (but this brings with it a lot of noise... more
