We stayed here having seen the great reviews. We were not disappointed! We were in the loft two rooms and it was very clean and comfortable crisp, white sheets etc. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and had lots of local information.Nothing was too much trouble. The location is great for the seafront and all the local attractions. Breakfast was amazing... More

Dan and team couldn't have been more helpful, Before we arrived we explained that it was a 50th celebratory weekend. Dan offered to get cupcakes and decorations if we wanted them. We were on the top floor as we wanted two rooms together, once you got there it was great, We knew it was the loft before we booked and so... More

This hotel is very beautifully decorated with a very modern theme and the location is fabulous for everything in Brighton. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Problem for us was the location of the room - up several flights of stairs and no lift. Initially we had no comfortable chair in the room but this was soon corrected. Room... More

WOW! Didn't see that coming...or maybe we should have! You did have a lot to moan about from the moment you arrived...our location, parking, stairs, the chair in the room, the position of the TV etc etc. We did everything we could for you during your stay to make it the best that it could be. I guided you into... More

After looking at the excellent reviews of Guest and the City, my wife and I stayed here following the London to Brighton bike ride. Dan could not have been more helpful when we booked and our bikes were able to be stored securely in the yard at the back of the house. Our room (#4) was a small double on... More

Perfect hosts, rooms are simply furnished with wonderful beds and exceptional bed linen. After hours of trawling web sites trying to find somewhere to stay on Brighton this was such a find. It was one of the least expensive and offered a parking permit which in Brighton is like gold dust. The attention to detail is amazing with quirky touches... More

This B and B is not then cheapest, but the location is fantastic- right by the pier. Unstandable for such a central location parking in on street but Dan the owner will jump in your car on arrival and find a space- parking permits are £10 for 24 hours. The B & B is really quirky and decorated in a... More

We stayed at this B&B just before Easter and could not have been more pleased with our choice of accommodation. We were welcomed and felt welcome from first to last day and Mardi and Dan could not have been more helpful. The room was comfortable and the shower water hot, what more could you ask for?. Breakfast was fresh cooked... More

We had a marvellous weekend in Brighton staying at Guest in the City! Perfect location right opposite the sea and the pier and near all the local restaurants and bars. Dan and Mardi made us feel very welcome and gave some great advice/ tips on where to go and what to see. The room was beautiful - we booked a... More

The room was well designed and we really liked the stained glass window and balcony/seating area. The en-suite was a little cramped but this is a minor issue. Breakfast was lovely and we felt well catered for as vegetarians (one of which has a lactose intolerance). Dan was friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome. The bed was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guest and the City is a boutique Guesthouse that reflects all that we love about Brighton. With seven private bedrooms, situated in the heart of Kemptown, minutes from the centre of Brighton, 30 seconds from the beach and opposite the famous Palace Pier, it’s the perfect location to explore Brighton for Business or pleasure. We want our guesthouse to reflect everything we like about staying in Brighton. Guest in the City therefore takes the best bits of a traditional B&B – a relaxed, friendly service, a central location and of course a top-notch breakfast with locally sourced ingredients – and puts them in modern, high-spec surroundings. The result is a boutique feel without luxury prices. To us, that’s what Brighton is all about – finding new things that surprise you and make you smile. ... more   less
