Second visit here and once again the style and personal touch is just as good as before. The great service starts from even before you arrive. Cannot fault anything! Great location close to everything, and great value for money. Will definitely be back again.

Quirky, cool little guest house with tons of character. Small but perfectly formed room. Open shower a little impractical but nothing a few carefully placed towels couldn't sort. Nice little extras in the room make you feel 'thought about'. Dan's the star of the show and makes the whole stay flow comfortably - his suggestions are worth listening to as... More

This will be fourth time we have stayed at Guest in the city. Always receive a warm welcome. If you are unfamiliar with Brighton Dan is happy to suggest places to eat and drink. When we have tried suggestions we have always been happy and you tend to get a discount or free glass of drink as well ! Breakfast... More

Dan couldn't be more helpful, even down to jumping in our car to help with parking. The decor is bright and cheerful and there are lots of littel details, down to the popping candy and lovehearts in the rooms. Our room was on the small side, but it was clean and had all the necessary stuff. Great idea to include... More

After booking Guest & The City for my boyfriends birthday weekend, I was not disappointed. Dan was very welcoming and a great at being a guide for what to do and where to eat in Brighton. We stayed in room 7 which is a mini double. It was very small (as expected) but very cosy and a great use of... More

Having run a B/B business we know what hard works goes on behind the scenes. Guest and the City ticks all the boxes. Accommodation bright, clean and cheerful. Hosts helpful and friendly. If and when we return to Brighton we would definitely stay here.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at Guest & the city and LOVED IT! The decor is lovely, a very boutique feel at a very reasonable price. On arrival, Dan helped us unload our bags and then jumped in the car with my other half to find a parking space (not easy in Brighton, in August!), we were... More

Thanks Dan and Mardie for such a great stay. The customer service was incredible. We were late on Friday night and Dan went in the car with me to help me find a temporary parking space and then even parked my car for me due to my awful parking skills! … The cooked to order breakfast was incredible and the... We were in Brighton for a graduation ceremony and had 2 nights booked at Guest and the City and we think that the good reviews on TA and Booking.com are absolutely spot on. Upon arrival we met Dan who did everything he could to get us settled in and recommend where we should go to eat/drink and basically be merry.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guest and the City is a boutique Guesthouse that reflects all that we love about Brighton. With seven private bedrooms, situated in the heart of Kemptown, minutes from the centre of Brighton, 30 seconds from the beach and opposite the famous Palace Pier, it’s the perfect location to explore Brighton for Business or pleasure. We want our guesthouse to reflect everything we like about staying in Brighton. Guest in the City therefore takes the best bits of a traditional B&B – a relaxed, friendly service, a central location and of course a top-notch breakfast with locally sourced ingredients – and puts them in modern, high-spec surroundings. The result is a boutique feel without luxury prices. To us, that’s what Brighton is all about – finding new things that surprise you and make you smile. ... more   less
