Rude staff. Dirty. The room we stayed in looked like it was about to cave in, it was so wonky. It may be cheap but for £25 each I would expect much much more. there is a hostel further along the seafront which is the same price and is like a palace in comparison! Also says when you book you... Firstly a previous review mentioned aggressive staff. This is not true, The owner has to open the door at 12 o clock at night by himself in the middle of the town next to night clubs kicking out, to drunk idiots. Considering that everyone was quite friendly. The room was as clean as you could expect. great value for money.... More

Cheap and centrally located. Good to crash if you want to enjoy a night out in Brighton without driving. Bad point is TV lounge closed at 10pm so its an early bed if you are not drinking. Kitchen is filthy. I found stuff growing in the fridge that hadn't been touched in months.

The hostel was dirty, the bed were very old and the sheets seemed like they were never washed. Furthermore, the staff was very impolite. The internet does not reach the rooms and I had the need to get online for work reasons and the only possible way was at the reception. It was a bit later that 23:00 hrs and... More

Grapevine hostel was in a really great location and the bedroom and bathroom were clean and warm, we thought it was good value for money. The only issue was the rats in the walls that kept us up through the night (I could even hear them through my earplugs).

This hostel is ideal for a cheap short stay or for backpackers. I stayed here overnight (late check-in, early check-out). The bed cost just £9 with an en-suite bathroom. It was a 4 bed room, on the top floor (2 floors up), and I was the only occupant for the night so had my privacy. Since it is on the... More

I got what I paid for: a bed in a two bunks dorm, right on the waterfront. I doubt I could have find a cheaper accommodation for my very short stay in Brighton. Off season, it wasn't noisy at all, so my biggest fear didn't come true. The staff was very kind and serviceable, and I was able to check... More

We came here for a friend's birthday at the weekend and had a great time! The beds were out to get me I must have banged my head a hundred times. But when horizontal I was very comfy. Nice bathroom, nice hot shower. We got a private room for the 4 of us for £35 each for 2 nights I... More

Pretty average - light in my room didn't work. shower was usually cold. only two toilets in the building I was in, one of them didn't have a sink. I got shouted out when I accidentally locked myself out. Good location, and you get what you pay for (i.e. a bed) and that is literally it.
