Mould, dripping water, stains everywhere, filthy dump. Whole building should be gutted and refurbished or pulled down. It wasn't even cheap either. Ok it is a hostel and you will never get hotel standards but this is unreal

Ideal if you want to sleep like if you were in a disco (is just the same wall), and also perfect if you want to share the room with drug sellers. People going in and out all night shouting. Bathroom without hot water. Very nice, yep.

the hostel was much better than the reviews had me believe, this was my first time staying in a hostel and although the rooms were very small and there was quite a queue for the shower in the morning i thought overall it was ok. The woman on reception was very off putting, she swore constantly and was generally quite... More

Hostel smells, the bathrooms smell of urine and the bathroom on our part of the hostel didn't even have a basin to wash your hands.let alone brush your teeth. .There is a sink in the room but is squashed in behind the beds to impossible to access. The wifi was slower than dial up. The location is good ... however... More

My football team stayed here at the weekend and had an interesting time...The place stunk like sweaty growlers as soon as you walked in through the main door.. The rooms were fairly basic 3 bunk beds in one room and then a little bathroom with a shower which did not stick to the wall (so nice and easy to wash... More

Me and my best friend stayed for just the one night and when I say basic I mean BASIC. I think it's okay for a one night stay but if you're going to stay any longer stay somewhere else. The smell is foul as you walk into the hallway, but the rooms are actually ok. The location is excellent though... More

We were booked into the hostel as part of a hen party package! We turned up later than expected due to a delay and we finally arrived at 9pm! We were greeted by a group of foreign men sat outside smoking! One of them ushered in and booked us in! We were told we had an 8 bed dorm with... More

My boyfriend and I decided to spend a couple of days in Brighton and wanted some cheap accommodation, so we chose the Grapevine Hostel as the location seemed convenient; this was by far the worst decision I have ever made. The staff were very rude and unwelcoming from the outset. The room is very basic and completely overpriced for what... More

The rooms are very basic. Unfortunately for us, our trip landed on August Bank Holiday weekend so we had to pay way over the odds. The location is great, although the windows were buffeted all night by the wind coming off the sea, and the sound of the street was still fairly loud in to the room. The bunk bed... More

Hi, The first time I was living in Brighton, 12 years ago I was staying at the coolest hostel in the world "Brighton Backpackers", was old, wasn´t so clean, but the atmosphere and the spirit was wonderful. Everyday was a party, everyday happened something and everyone helped each other. I came back to Spain and after 2 months I came... More
