I have been to many camp sites across the country and this is undoubtedly my favourite if your looking for informal accommodation set amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the South east this is the place for you! You turn up find yourself a pitch and frank the chap that runs the site will come and see you... More

If you happen to be looking for a proper camp-site you can't go far wrong with this. I was walking the South Downs Way with a friend and this was pretty much the most idilic spot at which we pitched our tents on the entirety of the 106 mile walk. The delightful village of Alfriston is 5 minutes walk away;... More

Went with a group of friends in mid-season (early September) and had a lovely time. Campsite is right on the South Downs Way so great for hiking and there are several nice pubs in the village. Easy access to Eastbourne, Brighton etc. Not sure why the facilities have got such bad reviews, for me they were good. The showers were... More

Disgusting toilets and bathrooms, it's very noisy, no rules, no reception and the owner doesn't hire staff or cleaners, he's just riding around with his pals in his pick up. If you need anything itt's impossible to find staff as there is no staff. There is no reception to pay the pitch fee. You pitch up and they will approach... More

Bank Holiday weekend camping with friends. Concerned that wet weather would send us home early but we had even more concern on reviews of site and loo facilities especially. The reviews are not wrong. The toilet blocks are primitive and at pioneering basic. All are far below acceptable commercial standards. There are three blocks, the once near the entrance are... More

The site is down a hard to see road as the sign was obscured by plants and the 400m road to enter the camp site is in terrible condition but that is what camping is about! Adventure! As you drive in there is a few houses, stables and then a tennis court. Next to the Tennis court is the washing... More

A very informal type of site. Sloping field, no reception (office or signal). Rough dirt track from main road. The worst toilets and shower facilities ever (they should be closed down for this alone, think Delhi shanty town). Reasonably quiet site, mostly tents. Build a proper toilet and shower block and I'd give it 4 out of 5. As it... More

Set in a beautiful valley, minutes from the centre of the very pretty village of Alfriston and yet feeling like miles from anywhere. The site is gently sloping and wooded on each side. So peaceful and very pretty. No mobile phone signal and very simple facilities make this a real break from hectic living. You can rent fire kits (half... More

Like camping used to be 40 years ago only a few toilets with people in a line outside each one, shower block looks like a garden shed.No shop not even a reception hut, even the field is not flat. I looked around a bit and drove off

A delightful spot and really convenient for all the area has to offer! However; 1) The toilets, showers, wash basins and washing up areas were disgustingly dirty- initially we though this was just because we arrived Sunday pm after a busy weekend but no it remained the same for the next 48hrs of our stay. 2) Clearly maintenance work had...
