Although this campsite is set in an idyllic location, basic facilities such as clean toilets and warm water seemed to be too much to ask for. If your looking for a quiet relaxing holiday this is certainly not the place to be. My advice, look elsewhere!

This camp site would indeed be a gem for my wife and me, were it not for the toilet and washing facilities which were inadequate on the day we stayed. The site seemed populated to capacity and there were simply not enough toilet facilities for the comfort of all. The situation was made worse by two of the women's cubicles... More

We like it so much we've been two weekends in a row! The gentlemen are friendly and helpful that run the site. The facilities are neat and tidy. Great place for family and kids. Alfriston is also a wonderful little town with very friendly people.

Back to basics camping, camping as I remember it when I first started camping way back in the 1960s! If you want and or expect all the latest facilities and mod cons then you certainly shouldn't book here. A basic camping field or two with just the basic facilities, drinking water taps at each end of the field with a... More

We had planned to spend the bank holiday weekend at this camping park. But we drove up the drive way to the field and there was rubbish everywhere, a tarpaulin over the roof of the shower block and generally it's in a poor state of repair I wouldn't wanna stay there and I'm happy wild camping but when it comes... My partner and I stay here at least three times a year and are due a visit in may. We discovered it by chance a couple of years ago online and was won over by it's tranquility and back to nature vibe. Set in a secluded valley, down a 1/2 mile lane, it is the perfect escape from London and... More

We stayed for two nights on the site for the bank holiday weekend at the end of August as a last minute booking. Such a good find! The site feels remote in the bottom of the hills in a very quiet setting but very easy to reach the pubs and shops in the small local village. We came on the... More

Really well placed, the camping park is outside Alfriston village and is a gateway to the Downs, but only 5 minutes walk from the village shop if you need to buy marshmallows (we did) and other essential items like fresh bread or beer. We visited twice in the summer, weekends in June and July and enjoyed both visits. There was... More

We came here for a few nights and would of loved to stay longer. For people who just want to camp and do not expect 'luxury'!!! (as if one would but it seems to me that some people do) this site was just perfect. Hilly yes, but is that a problem? Seems to be for some. YOU ARE CAMPING. Sorry.... More

Camped here for 3 nights with family & friends, we had a great time. Showers & loos are very basic but kept immaculately clean. Friendly campers dotted around the field. Alfriston village is a short stroll & has a lovely tea room & a few oldie worldie pubs. Great place, will defiantly return.
