This is the second stay at this hotel and each one has been very relaxing. The staff are friendly and helpful; the rooms are well kept, lovely and clean and the positioning of the hotel is excellent for strolling and exploring Alfriston and the lovely shops and restaurants. Would certainly stay again and wouldn't hesitate in recommending.

We didn't stay here, we were attending one of my friend's wedding, and it is set in a beautiful location albeit far from "civilisation", you WON'T get a mobile phone signal, at all. The beers at the bar are limited, and the alco-pops are non-existent. But it was a truly beautiful setting for this establishment.

I stayed here with my wife and mother-in-law for two nights on 10 and 11 April, 2012. We used the hotel as a base for exploring the surrounding area. The hotel is situated close to the Cuckmere River and you can walk directly on to the river path from the hotel. It's a beautiful location, ideal for walking and rambling.... More

Had an excellent meal in the garden room tonight. The service is always good, comfortable and very reasonably priced menu. If you are local to area, don't want to travel far, and want a predictably good experience, deans place cannot be overlooked. My local top recommendation.
