Alfriston is a truly delightful village, and Wingrove House could hardly be better located within it. Our room (#8) on the top floor had a view across the green to the church (see photo), and the bathroom had a view along the street. The room itself was lovely and furnished to a high standard, appearing to be recently refurbished, and... More

Wingrove House has a terrific location in a picturesque corner of Alfriston. It's a great place to stay. Even if you don't have a room, you can still eat at the wonderful restaurant. But it's probably a good idea to make a reservation. There are only ten tables, and the word on the quality is clearly out. We stayed for... More

My husband booked the hotel for my birthday. The hotel is a charming building. It is elegant but cosy serving superb fresh organic food. The room we stayed in was on the top floor. It was clean with fresh white furnishings. The walls are angled so one had to be careful not to knock one's head...The hotel is located in... More

We stayed for a weekend in delightful Wingrove House which is a 19th Century colonial style building in this quaint village. Nick, the owner made us very welcome. Our room had a verandah overlooking the garden. Breakfast started with fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, small croissants and homemade jam. The cooked breakfasts were delicious and, if that was not enough,... More

My friends and I visited the WIngrove for dinner to celebrate our 30ths. All 6 of us had a throughly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere, food and service was excellent. Definately the right place to celebrate a special occasion. It really was great value for money for such outstanding food. We will defiantly be returning!

A lovely, casual atmosphere is created in this family run hotel. The rooms are lovely with creature comforts like ipod speakers, a coffee machine and super comfortable bed. Food was delicious, and modern - not pretentious. Alfriston is beautiful, and close to the South Downs way so lovely walking in the area

Spent valentines night in the wingrove, I can honestly say that it was perfect, a lovely feel to it. The manager was a gentleman and was faultless, the food was really nice ( I had rabbit as the main ) I would give it 99% although would be a 100% if the rooms were slightly cheaper. Although you can see... More

This really is a lovely boutique hotel, and we had a very enjoyable stay, but... Whilst the rooms are very nicely decorated and have most of what you need for a comfortable stay, it lacks atmosphere and feels quite sterile. And it a little over priced, which makes you a little more picky. So things like the hair drier flex... More
