We arrived damp, slightly muddy and very tired after a leg of the South Downs Way. Despite all of this the staff gave us a warm welcome. The room was decorated very nicely and was very comfortable. Had a lovely covered private balcony for the room and we enjoyed a perfect glass of wine on the terrace surrounded by a... More

This really is the place to relax, from the moment you arrive the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional but and not at all stuffy like some of these very beautiful gems that you find..if you want to get away from it all book it now we stayed in room 3 with a beautiful verandah and we were lucky... It was like walking back to colonial times at Wingrove House. The welcome is warm and friendly and the rooms very comfortable and decorated to a high standard with lovely little touches like the Greek honey sticks and coffee pod machines, and the beds are so comfortable. The restaurant has a very good menu and amazing wine list. The grounds... More

We've eaten here on numerous occasions and within the last two months have been lucky enough to stay twice. The rooms are decorated extremely well, modern styling and extremely comfortable. Lovely King sided beds, coffee making facilities and very clean. Room 8 is fantastic, divided into two rooms - one for the bed and another for a luxury bathroom with... More

Alfriston is a truly delightful village, and Wingrove House could hardly be better located within it. Our room (#8) on the top floor had a view across the green to the church (see photo), and the bathroom had a view along the street. The room itself was lovely and furnished to a high standard, appearing to be recently refurbished, and... More

Wingrove House has a terrific location in a picturesque corner of Alfriston. It's a great place to stay. Even if you don't have a room, you can still eat at the wonderful restaurant. But it's probably a good idea to make a reservation. There are only ten tables, and the word on the quality is clearly out. We stayed for... More

My husband booked the hotel for my birthday. The hotel is a charming building. It is elegant but cosy serving superb fresh organic food. The room we stayed in was on the top floor. It was clean with fresh white furnishings. The walls are angled so one had to be careful not to knock one's head...The hotel is located in... More

We stayed for a weekend in delightful Wingrove House which is a 19th Century colonial style building in this quaint village. Nick, the owner made us very welcome. Our room had a verandah overlooking the garden. Breakfast started with fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, small croissants and homemade jam. The cooked breakfasts were delicious and, if that was not enough,... More
