Its like a hotel and the superior room we stayed in was pure luxury and tastefully decorated with separate en suite through an arched door way. I have been going for a fair few years and the Rivendell is top of my list it is a hard one to beat. Choose from Home made cereals, fruit salad yogurts special cooked... More

Lovely welcome from Kevin and Lyn, (despite we'd not been back for 4 years) and made us realise what a special place Swanage is and how Rivendell is a superb place to relax. Quite apart from the superb breakfasts (the fresh daily soda bread is still a delight), the updated decor and effort that goes in to make our stay... More

We spent two very relaxing and delightful days staying in Rivendell. The location means one can walk everywhere. The food is superb! I can highly recommend this B&B as a well run and pleasant setting in the town of Swanage.

room 2 is very comfortable and made our non-walking hours relaxing. large shower with great water pressure, huge bed with high quality bedding - everything about the house is super-clean, high quality but very comfortable and homely breakfasts very good too - home made muffins were perfect to take with us on walks too. Hosts just the right level of... More

I have stayed here many times during the Swanage Folk Festival and recently for business purposes and I have never been disappointed. Lyn and Kevin are extremely welcoming and attentive and the rooms are very comfortable, beautifully decorated and have everything you could possibly want or need. Nothing is too much trouble and I highly recommend the full Dorset breakfast... More

I have stayed here on two occasions now as I sometimes have to work nearby. The service you recieve is, quite frankly, fantastic. They are very accommodating, providing an earlier breakfast option as we required. You arrive to a pre heated room and a warm welcome. The only minor negative would be that the bed in room four has a... More

Rivendell is a lovely bed and breakfast, a beautiful old house, but very up-to-date too. A minute away from the town centre and sea front. Host was exceptionally friendly! Would definitely stay again.

We only stayed for one night but it was a very pleasant experience. Rooms were freshly decorated with brand new carpets throughout. We were made very welcome and breakfast was delicious. Perfect location for town and beach, and no hills to climb!

We stayed a couple of nights and couldn't have been looked after better. Lyn and Kevin were both very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated and the breakfasts, which were already legendary amongst our family, had had the Valentine's day treatment! All in all a delightful stay.

The Rivendell Guest house is a lovely establishment, up to the minute décor, but retaining a wealth of period "Arts and Crafts "charm, the attention to detail was remarkable, everything about our stay was excellent, the food superb, everything being local, and mostly home made, will certainly stay again.
