We stayed here for a night as we love Swanage, and have never been out of season. The Hotel is very dated and in need of some real TLC. The staff were friendly & we had paid for a sea view, but for the price I would have expected better in terms of the room! The view to the sea... More

We won a meal 3 course for 2 people at The Pines Hotel Swanage in the village hall draw earlier this year and chose last hight to go for it. Booking was easy via the phone, on arrival we were given the chance to have a drink in the bar or go straight to dinner as the table was ready.... More

Booked 2 single rooms and were offered 2 small doubles at the same price, also with sea views. One room was lovely, with a balcony. Beautifully furnished. The other room was quite small but unfortunately smelt very damp. The staff were apologetic and delightful and arranged a change. They had had a problem with water leakage and thought it had... More

Have been here a couple of times and food is always good as is the service, today slightly different, the waitress took us to the wrong table, and got the starter order wrong, not to much of a problem, but not good when 2 people have a starter and the third is left waiting. I was very disappointed with my... More

My partner and I recently stayed in this hotel. It was a last minute choice as we were travelling from Plymouth to Winchester and wanted to stop off on the way. The receptionist was very welcoming and offered us a sea view room. The room was very comfortable and was, indeed, a sea view as the hotel backs onto the... More

We booked here initially as it was a dog friendly hotel. From the moment we walked in, I have to say I have never been greeted and welcomed by such warm and friendly staff, first impressions certainly make a difference. The hotel is clean, well decorated, has fantastic views from the restaurant and reception over the sea, the food (... More

We have stayed at this hotel on eight different occasions for dinner bed and breakfast but on this occasion bed and breakfast only. On our previous visits, rooms numbers 2 & 7 were unclean with very poor and outdated unclean bathroom facilities. We have reported this on all occasions but nothing has been done to improve hygiene in those two... More

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. It isn't the most pretty of buildings but that really doesn't matter. The hotel was spotless, (despite being dog friendly), and comfortable. The bed was really good and comfy. The food was excellent, a large choice and everything tasted delicious. We were part of a large group of Ramblers, so we expected service to... More

The building would win no architectural prizes, but don't be put off! Our room was large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the garden and amazing sea views. We have just stayed here for 3 nights and each evening the menu had lots of choice and all of our meals were excellent. It is a pleasant change these days to... More

This was our second visit to the Pines, returning after the good experience we had on our first visit in 2012. The high standard was maintained. Excellent food, well-served, in a dining room with lovely sea view. To be recommended.
