We booked here initially as it was a dog friendly hotel. From the moment we walked in, I have to say I have never been greeted and welcomed by such warm and friendly staff, first impressions certainly make a difference. The hotel is clean, well decorated, has fantastic views from the restaurant and reception over the sea, the food (... More

We have stayed at this hotel on eight different occasions for dinner bed and breakfast but on this occasion bed and breakfast only. On our previous visits, rooms numbers 2 & 7 were unclean with very poor and outdated unclean bathroom facilities. We have reported this on all occasions but nothing has been done to improve hygiene in those two... More

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. It isn't the most pretty of buildings but that really doesn't matter. The hotel was spotless, (despite being dog friendly), and comfortable. The bed was really good and comfy. The food was excellent, a large choice and everything tasted delicious. We were part of a large group of Ramblers, so we expected service to... More

The building would win no architectural prizes, but don't be put off! Our room was large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the garden and amazing sea views. We have just stayed here for 3 nights and each evening the menu had lots of choice and all of our meals were excellent. It is a pleasant change these days to... More

This was our second visit to the Pines, returning after the good experience we had on our first visit in 2012. The high standard was maintained. Excellent food, well-served, in a dining room with lovely sea view. To be recommended.

Food is excellent and they change the menu every day. Plenty of choices. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely return. Highly Recommended. Also a very dog friendly hotel.

My daughter and I shared a twin room with patio windows out onto the garden overlooking the sea. We had only booked one night but could have stayed longer. Comfortable beds, clean room, excellent service and top quality breakfast and dinner. Decor a little tired but we did not mind that. 20 mins pleasant walk into Swanage.

Whilst working in the area I always try and stop here. If possible get a sea view room as it's well worth paying for. The hotel is comfy, staff are helpful and the breakfast choice is good also. My only criticism would be that as I stay when I'm working in the area, the evening menu, whilst looking good, is... More

This is our 2nd stay at this hotel, and we were here for 6 nights (half board),we came 2 years ago with our 2 dogs and loved the position of the hotel, the views are unbeatable! Last time we had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea but this time we took a room on the ground floor with French... More

We recently enjoyed another stay in this very nice hotel. If anything this stay was better than the first. There are many things to like about this hotel, but what we appreciate most of all are; the magnificent views (if you don't want to pay that bit extra for a sea view don't worry, the views over the Purbeck Hills...
