Comfortable bed in cosy room leading onto little patio. Gorgeous toiletries, organic refreshments, welcome biscuits and lovely pillows. Our friends had space in the family room for their travel cot. Hosts are welcoming, friendly and cook a wonderful vegetarian breakfast in their family kitchen. Two minutes from the beach, this is a perfect place to if you appreciate a homely... More

Having spent the best part of an afternoon trying to arrange a one night stay in Swanage in August, I was very grateful to Annie for taking our booking. It seems that most Swanage B&Bs in August are only interested in 2 nights!! We were visiting our family who were holidaying in Swanage all week, and we only needed to... More

Booked the main, biggest room coz travelled with a 6-month old, but got an average size room packed with stuff, bed, cot bed (which we had requested) , huge dining table, kitchen, wardrobe and a big soft chair. When we brought our luggage in and the baby, there was no room to walk around or access the wardrobe at all,... More

Beautiful guest house with a warm and friendly service, catering for vegetarians and vegans, a stones throw away from a safe and sandy beach. Lovely for couples and groups/ families, airy tasteful rooms, fantastic breakfast, relaxing and welcoming. Close to Swanage, and the beautiful jurrasic coastline. Nearby you can take a trip on a steamtrain which travels through the wonderful... More

I have been visiting The Sands in Swanage for many years and have thoroughly enjoyed every stay. I first came about 6 years ago as a sort of happy accident when my other accommodation fell through. And I liked it so much i have been coming back ever since. I always recommend it to friends. I now come with my... More

We recently had two nights here. No sign of Annie, which was possibly the problem? There was no-one to greet us, which they had rung and explained. However, no note to say which room was ours so we had to work it out from the website. The bathroom was filthy and didn't even have a toilet roll. I had to... More

I was held up by and hour at a hospital appointment and as a courtesy rang these guests with instructions, both as to where to find a key and the location of their room. Having originally booked a 7.00pm meal I asked if we could make it a little later. At 7.10 they arrived and were offered the option of... More

I've stayed at this B&B a number of times over the years. It is the only place I'll ever stay at in Swanage and it is so much nicer than a typical B&B. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and the beds are so comfortable. The self catering room is really spacious and the other room with french doors is... More

As a regular guest at the Sands I can warmly recommend this for a first rate holiday. Charming Swanage, the sandy beach and Old Harry Rocks are all easy walking distance. The accommodation is comfortable with excellent vegetarian fare and it always feels a most welcoming place. Does the sun always shine in Swanage?

I stayed with Annie for 2 nights at the end of April and had a lovely time. Her home is wonderfully welcoming and is covered in her amazing paintings. She is an incredibly talented lady! The B & B part of the house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It's in a great location as well. The vegetarian (I am... More

This B&B is centrally located to the town, and the room allocated was clean. But the price is too high in relation to what you get, and compared to other B&Bs in Swanage, Space cramped.

We believe this to be an unfortunate case of mistaken identity. We are on the outskirts of Swanage on the Coastal path, not centrally placed as this review states. More
