Just returned from the Grand and we had a wonderful break there. The staff were fabulous and the hotel with its blazing fires during a very cold spell were just what the doctor ordered. The views were breathtaking and the food was gorgeous. A really romantic spot! The only downside were the awful mattresses in a twin room and after... More

The hotel is situated right above Swanage Bay, with fantastic views from the conservatory and garden. There's a walkway down to the beach...in the summer, it would be perfect. In February, it was awesome, but very cold! The staff were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble, they were helpful, friendly and very efficient. The lovely warm fireplace in the... More

The best things about this hotel were the stunning views and the very friendly and helpful staff. There was a lovely warm fire as we arrived on a very cold day. Although the Hotel is in need of updating in places it has a relaxed and comfortable feel. There were a few niggles such as the pool was too cold... More

The hotel is well situated and has an old world charm. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the meal and dined both nights. We look forward to returning. Swanage out of season was quiet. We walked and visited the many local sights Corfe Castle and Kimerage Bay were delightful. The Square and Compuss in Kingston is a pub... More

An excellent, evening, first class three course meal served efficiently and quickly by very pleasant staff, all in all 100% satisfaction. This is an annual event and in all probablility we will use this hotel again in 2014, guest danced to a Bournemouth based Rat Pack Trio, which was superb.

A lovely Victorian Hotel. Excellent breakfast, with a lot of choice. Wonderful setting, overlooking the bay, and within walking distance of the town. Very comfortable rooms, and conservatory lounge. Bar meals in the Conservatory were good value and well presented. The restaurant meals were quite expensive.

Just leaving after a three day stay and have had a wonderful time. Well maintained and clean with nice interiors and comfortable bedrooms. The staff were very helpful and extremely polite. We haven't a single complaint. Beautifully set on the cliff top above the beach with steps down through the gardens to the beach or you can stroll down the... More

We had a lovely peaceful weekend at the grand. Service, food and hotel was great. We enjoyed our stay in room 302, overlooking bay and watching the doves outside on window sill. The only gripe as a veggie was being served half a tomatoe when asking for mushrooms and tomatoes on toast, but Alan made up with full English and... More
