Wonderful view from our room but it has all been said by the previous reviewer this hotel needs a complete refurbishment especially the en suite and does not justify £150 per night. Our room was oppressive as the windows only opened a little due obviously to the seagull problems. Breakfast was disappointing and on our first morning each table comprised... More

Where to start? Well let's take it as it happened. We managed to grab a parking space on arrival, and as there are only 13 spaces for 30 rooms that was pretty lucky. As we were early we couldn't get our room but the lady in reception was very helpful and told us all about what was happening in town.... More

Booked lunch via living social deal ..... we visited last Autumn and really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. As my wife was seriously ill our current voucher expired and we were unable to use it. I contacted the Hotel and Lindsay offered to extend the offer for another month. This meant we were able to visit again and enjoy the surroundings... More

My wife and I took a two night weekend break in July this year at the Grand. The idea of staying was driven by a discounted meal offer. Unfortunately the meal was not what it was built up to be, just plain and simple, and the hotel was not much different. The best part of the hotel is its location... More

We stayed here for two nights for a local wedding, but unfortunately cannot recommend it based on our experience. On the bright side, if you are a fan of Agatha Christie, this hotel feels like something out of one of her novels. You could imagine Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple sitting next to you in the Conservatory. It very much... More

Has the potential to be a good hotel - nice building/good location etc. BUT...rooms really hot, shower hot then cold then hot then cold (you get the idea), pigeons everywhere, wrong breakfast brought out both mornings we stayed, room v small, curtains see-through so awake at the crack of dawn, no lunch available on one day as they were catering... The pool was fabulous I had it to myself every morning! Beautiful location, lovely gardens and easily accesible steps down to beach. Quite pricey but worth it. On the downside rooms very warm even with windows open all night .

Very friendly staff, very clean room, comfortable bed, beautiful view of the sea, lovely garden to sit out in. Tasty, freshly cooked breakfast. So what are the buts? The shower was out of the ark (needed considerable time and patience to obtain a decent flow of water at a tolerable temperature) and the general décor is a bit run down.... More

This is the place to go if you like pigeons, they are all over the place really annoying trying to sleep with a dozen on your windowsill, very noisy. Asked to move no, fully booked. Having stayed in many places I have never had to ask for the mattress to be replaced as I had to in this hotel as... More

Stayed here for two nights for a local wedding. Hotel very dated with tired decor but can be sympathetic about this given the costs of renovations. However at £130/night, our non-sea view accommodation was utterly substandard: thin curtains meant a dawn wake-up and the aged bathroom meant poor shower pressure with erratic temperatures. Breakfast was poor with no pastries remaining... More
