On the day booking - great deal for a family if 4 sharing 2 doubles. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable and sea view from windows was amazing. The children loved the pool, the garden and the secret path to the beach. The general manager was incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming!

Had a very relaxing 3 day stay at the Grand Hotel. Lovely double room, with great views of Swanage Bay. Helpful and friendly staff. Food very nice. Idea base for many local walks, or just relaxing in Hotel garden. Definitely recommend the hotel.

We had such a great stay at the Grand Hotel - we stayed three nights B&B. The staff were so helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble. Lindsay in particular was completely lovely and very friendly. The breakfast was great quality and we had a cream tea on the second last day, two massive scones, very tasty but too... More

I understand that it is a Victorian Hotel, that is why I booked it. A chance to get a room with high ceilings and the sense of space that gives. A chance to get the great views the Victorians were famous for liking. I also accept that many changes have been made, not least the fire doors onto each floor... More

We stayed with another couple for three nights, our room had a balcony , the only one available with a double bed (which was very comfortable) Our friends paid the same amount as us, £180 a night , their bed sagged and creaked , there was no shower screen only a shower curtain .....I didn't know they still existed !!... The hotel has had some much needed redecoration lets hope they carry on Perhaps the beds could do with updating next. The lift only takes 2 people and got stuck twice while we were there. The gardens are an added bonus on a sunny day perhaps new sun loungers and chairs would be nice. The conservatory with its magnificent views... More

This is probably one of the best beachside hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff are very helpful and polite. The facilities are great and the views are exceptional. I will certainly be returning for another stay.

We have not stayed at the Grand Hotel Swanage, but can comment very favourably on it as a venue, this July, for a Golden Wedding Anniversary Lunch for a party of 40 guests including children . It was an excellent choice. Lindsay, the General Manager was very helpful in the planning stages, and the restaurant staff with Irene, Restaurant Manager,... More
