Lovely hotel with a real old feel to it. Excellent check in welcome and fantastic service. Lovely sized room with great views! Breakfast nice Only negative on this stay was zero hot water so shower impossible in cold January. Happy though to recommend and would defenitely stay again!

We always stay at the Purbeck when we are lucky enough to go to Swanage. This is because it is value for money and the management and staff make it feel like a home from home - quite simply they are really friendly while at the same time being professional. The gardens are lovely and the food in the bar... More

Came here last night to stay after a wedding Very nice little hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Decor I would say is pretty dated and that's my only reason for not giving it 5*'s. However it is super clean and all amenities are catered for. Beds were comfy enough, a little on the hard side but that all... More

We were very pleased last year with the table decoration and layout , meal and also the staff . This year was far far better . The whole meal was excellent . The profiteroles that were served as the dessert were really excellent and a very discerning eater was heard to say ' actually they were the best profiteroles she... More

This was our first visit to this hotel and I can safely say we we're both pleasantly surprised. It's a beautiful old building and although some of the decor isn't that modern it's all kept nice and clean. The room was large, quiet and comfortable. Through out the hotel it's clean and staff are very helpful and polite. I would... More

We booked a funeral buffet at Purbeck House Hotel this weekend, having never eaten there before. The food was delicious and plentiful, including lovely little cheese quiches and chicken kebabs. The service was very good and everything went according to plan. The venue is really delightful. A beautiful quirky antique building with lovely gardens. We were in the small lounge... More

Just wanted to express what a great Christmas party we had last night at the hotel. The layout meant no one was crammed in, table decorations were lovely, great glass of mulled wine on arrival. It was lovely that food orders were taken from the table rather than pre ordering (where someone always forgets what they've ordered). Plenty off food... More

Loved this hotel. Big old Victorian mansion with all the period features; grand entrance hall, orangery, formal gardens; follies; etc. Also, amazing view of town and coast from the better rooms. Breakfast was basic. Be warned however, if you stay here in winter bring a heater, as the large rooms are freezing!

We stayed here for three nights as part of a large group of friends. Our room was very comfortable and clean, the only downside was the single glazing which meant we could hear everything out on the street. However there was virtually no traffic at night and the first cars started up around 7am. Tea and coffee facilities in our... More
