Hotel was ok but window in the room kept rattling and when I mentioned it to the receptionist the next day she was very dismissive of my comments and I felt she did not believe me. Lovely grounds, good location and car parking was available. Breakfast was good and the staff in the restaurant were friendly, attentive and very helpful.... More

Booked for two nights stay as a party of four with myself and my husband and both mums. We were greeted very warmly by the lady on reception who had booked both mums into rooms on the ground floor as there is no lift in the hotel. We stayed in Louisa Lodge which is a newer block of rooms across... More

Spent 2 nights here for a family celebration. Old building, but well maintained and full of character. Ample car parking space, Pleasant helpful staff. Situated within easy walk of all town centre and local attractions. Would use again if staying in Swanage.

Went there whilst on holiday last month, from beginning to end it was a really nice experience. The staff were friendly and efficient the service was second to none, the food was of a high standard, The ambience was magica,l such a seemingly old building maintained as it should be. It will be my first stop next time we visit... More

The picture in this case being an empty dining room. But first - the good points: a friendly receptionist and waiter, and the food was delicious and not expensive. The outlook from the dining room was pleasant: a reasonably well tended and colourful garden. Unfortunately for us, however, service was very slow despite having booked a table for lunch in... More

A group pf 16 friends wanted "Afternoon Tea", no particular celebration, just a group of friends from a local caravan site. After trying a no of venues in & around Swanage, most of whom were totally uninterested in laying this on for us, we enquired here. Our first encounter was with a receptionist, who gave us the opinion nothing was... More

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room although a bit dated, much like the rest of the hotel, was huge and had sea views to three sides. However all was clean and working. The big secret of this hotel is the food in its own restaurant, it is fabulous!. I can't... More

On arrival we were impressed by the beautiful grounds of the hotel, and the welcome on reception was professional and absolutely first class. The room was clean and comfortable, slightly over priced, but we had booked very late and bagged one of the last rooms available in the immediate area. The building is full of history, the staff are wonderful,... More
