We stayed at the Castleton in May and really couldn't fault it. Julien and Maggie were really helpful hosts, giving us lots of tips for making the most of our stay and serving delicious breakfasts - an excellent way to start the day. The Castleton is conveniently situated in a reasonably quiet area but still within a short walk of... More

Having part of my family living in Swanage, I customarily spend a couple of weeks there each year and my consistent choice is The Castleton. Its cleanliness is paramount, rooms are comfortable and cozy, breakfast is tasty and plentiful, and Julian and Maggie are great hosts without being intrusive. You can't go wrong choosing The Castleton! More

This was our third trip to swanage to stay at The Castleton and one once again we were not disappointed with our visit. Maggie and Julien are a lovely couple and make you very welcome. They cannot do enough for you to make you very welcome. The Castleton is a lovely place to stay as it is central to Swanage... More

Wanted to stay in Dorset so went on to Trip Advisor to look at the reviews. Having read about The Castleton I rang and spoke to Maggie who was extremely helpful and our booking was made. Meeting Julian and Maggie is like meeting up with old friends and they provided lots of local information. Accommodation could not be faulted and,... More

We only had one night in Swanage and booked The Castleton after reading great reviews online, and we weren't disappointed! Julian & Maggie warmly welcomed us upon our arrival and recommended a fabulous seafood restaurant (The Ocean Bay) a short stroll away towards the beach, which served up an amazing fare & ambience. Wished we had a few days to... More

Julien and Maggie gave a very warm welcome, the rooms were superb, the food delicious and with an unbeatable location right on the coast! It was so nice to be given such a warm welcome as a young family too... More

- Very warm and yet very professionnal welcome by Julian and Maggie. - High quality room furniture and equipment. Everything is highly tasteful and excellently maintained - Breakfasts are both delicious and copious (fresh fruits, juices, English breakfast with excellent quality products), with probably one of the best coffees I have ever tasted in Britain (I am French and very... Really good location, and a lovely welcome with tea and cake! Everything pristine - airy room (no. 3), very quiet in spite of overlooking the main road - and a really good bathroom with a walk in shower. Lovely to have a mini fridge - Maggie even put milk in each day so we could have ‘fresh’ in our early... More
