Have just returned from the Castleton with four generations of our family. The hotel is lovely and in an excellent location. Julian and Maggie could not have been more welcoming and made our stay very special. Great breakfast. Definitely reccomend for that special weekend. more

We took over the Castleton as a family to celebrate my Parents 50th golden wedding anniversary! There were 18 of us from the age of 14 to 74. We had a fantastic time and our host could not have been more helpful. We run a five star with a Gold award B and B ourselves and did wonder about this... more

My wife and I were able to arrange just one precious night away from the children. We booked the Castleton on recommendation of a friend and strapped the mountain bikes to the car. With the car safely parked in the hotel car park, the bike rides in the Purbecks were amazing; cycling from the doorstep of the Castleton we were... more

Upon arrival to the B & B, we registered, it was all very simple. We then got given the local knowledge we needed to get a much-needed bite to eat. The service here is top quality, very friendly family and really accommodating. The rooms are large and spacious, however the bathroom was a little small (the only thing stopping this... more

We have just returned from a weekend break at The Castleton in Swanage. It is a lovely place to stay in a great location just minutes from the beach and local cafes and pubs. Julian and Maggie are very friendly and helpful but not pushy. The bedroom was comfortable and warm and the shower was powerful and hot - much... more

We definitely recommend this lovely, quality and calm hotel with very friendly, and accommodating owners and staff. We spent three days and nights relaxing at the hotel and wandering around Swanage with our three month old boy. The perfect place and location to switch off and get away for a break! The hotel staff willingly looked after our every need... more

This was my first time in Swanage and don't normally stay in small private hotels, usually staying in large corporate chains, and I was impressed with the location, room, facilities and especially the welcome. The owners treated me like a long lost friend and nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel is only a short walk from the beach and... more

Lovely B n B. Clean and homely. Had TV/DVD player and wi-fi. Tea/coffee/biscuits/bottled water and in room. Car park only takes 2 cars so had to park on the side road. Good restuarant nearby called Ocean bay or lots of places to get fish and chips. Swanage is a small town and good for young families. more

I have just returned to Dunedin New Zealand after a month break in England. During my trip I spent some time touring the south coast. I decided to stay in Swanage as it is a picturesque coastal town away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Bournemouth and Poole. I was lucky enough to find The Castleton on a drive... more

Having visited Swanage from London several times since I was a boy, I had often passed the impressive guest house- "The Castleton" but had never visited. When arranging a stay over Easter with my new girlfriend I searched the internet & saw a picture I recalled from my past. I called Julian & he arranged a beautiful room for us.... more
