Spent three nights here and came home feeling as though we had been away for much longer. Has an executive room but weren't sure what exactly made it 'executive' compared to other executivy type rooms we have stayed in, however, it was very big with a comfy bed and a huge bathroom with two showers and everything we needed. Noise... More

Stayed for 3nights and nothing was too much trouble, even had a large continental breakfast presented to me as I had to leave in the morning before the cooked breakfast was available. A real local pub with great restaurant and accomodation. Everything was spotless.

We stayed just the one night at the Poachers, using it as a night stop after an eventual afternoon Zorbing. The staff were very friendly and happy to help when asked and we settled down in the bar top watch the cup final that was on a good sized TV. Doombar & Tribute were on tap, both kept very well........ More

Popped into the Poachers on a rainy Sunday afternoon for lunch. We went for the Sunday lunch which came with lovely vegetables and plenty of them. So often there is only one small dish between two people but here you get loads. Lovely food and not expensive. We have been back since and it was just as nice!.

we stayed here for a family wedding in the nearby church at Piddlehinton. The area is beautiful, and the pub is perfectly placed for the delights of the Dorset countryside. we were staying in a family room (no. 10) which, to be honest, was in need of a refurb. The carpet was stained and dirty, and the mattress was completely... More

Stayed here for one night, and despite there being no heating in February, it wasn't too bad. I dragged all the blankets etc out of the wardrobe to keep me warm, which I sort of managed, I guess they're just saving money on heating! Nice clean room, however, there is no mobile or wifi signal. Excellent breakfast. Didn't really understand... More

We have stayed at the Poachers on a number of occasions over recent years. We were in the area recently and decided to stop by for a meal. The place hasn't changed! Lovely location, good food, friendly staff (and locals), and reasonable prices.

Excellent little base for exploring Dorset, we stayed in the queenie suite which was LOVELY and had an awesome bathroom and shower like a rain shower. Food was lovely, and the other pub in the village was too. You can walk between a few places but the poachers is nice to eat / drink in too. The staff were mainly... More
