A trip from NZ with my daughter cumulated in a fantastic reunion with my oldest friend and her daughter in the wonderful Aquila Heights. It felt like home from home - we were welcomed, cared for without being fussed over and there was absolutely every amenity available. The attention to detail makes a stay here superb. The location is ideal,... More

I loved my stay at Aquila Heights! Joan, the landlady, treats her guests like family members and she is always ready to help: she came to pick me up at the train station (a very pleasant surprise, since I was wondering where to find a taxi) and she provided me with tons of information about the local curiosities and the... We visited the UK this summer for 17 days.First, Thomas Hardy country in Dorchester, then Oxford where my wife took a week long course on Jane Austen, then final three days in London. The start of our trip was just great because we stayed at Aguila Heights, where the owner, Joan, pampers her guests, and the home is so beautiful. Breakfasts... More

This guesthouse was airy and clean and our room overlooked the countryside in the distance. The residential neighborhood was quiet. The walk into town took about 20-25 min. with busy streets that we found difficult to cross. There may be an easier way to walk that we were unaware of.

A warm welcome, very clean and a comfortable night. Slightly surreal breakfast with a very comprehensive range of cereals/jams/spreads and an excellent cooked breakfast. Separate toilet/shower in the single room not a problem.

Have stayed at Aquila Heights a couple of times now - both for two nights. First time spent one night in double room and second in single (husband in hospital). Second time no single room available so spent two nights in double. Made very welcome and was grateful for interest and interaction while spending second night on my own. Breakfasts... More

Staying at the Aquila was a pleasure from start to finish. The online booking system was a doddle to use, I paid via paypal and had the confirmations back in a flash. I arrived on a Saturday evening, dusty and sunburnt after attending Tankfest, and was wrmly greeted by Joan, who had just moved her car to ensure that I... More

I have travelled a great deal and used various and different types of accommodation within the UK.I would however say without doubt that in the B & B class this is simply the best providing high standards and excellent value for money. The breakfasts are first class and the rooms are clean with every toiletry you need in an en-suite... More

What a gem! Lovely place to stay. Very welcoming, even with 2 little ones in tow! Joans knowledge of local area was second to none and we enjoyed listening. The room was spacious and well equipped. The items on the breakfast menu were endless. The service joan provided was excellent. The breakfast itself was very tasty and set us up... More
