If you think the reviews for this hotel are too good to be true, then don't. It is as good as people say. I have just come back from another enjoyable stay. Food, rooms and general demeanour of this lovely little guest house are all perfect. Well done Joan! See you in January! Merry Christmas!

My fourth visit to this fantastic B and B, this time with a group of 5 friends. Beautiful rooms, scrumptious breakfasts and a log fire alight for us in the lounge every evening - we will be back!! Joan (the lovely landlady) even let us use the dining room in the evening for our Indian take away AND warmed our... More

This is one of the best guest houses I have ever stayed in. Received a very warm welcome. Room was very spacious, comfortable, clean and well-equipped, with an ample selection of toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of fruits and a delicious cooked breakfast. Plenty of rooms available for a small group. An easy 10 min walk to... More

We stayed at Aquila Heights Guest House for one night as we were attending a function in Dorchester. Joan made us extremely welcome and our bedroom (No.5) was a huge room and very comfortable. Everything you could possibly need in the room was provided with loads of choice of shower gels, shampoos etc. The breakfast choice was immerse starting with... More

The bedroom we had was very pleasant with views over Maiden Castle and Hardy's monument. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean, warm and spacious (we had room 3 upstairs). There are plenty of toiletries and a wide choice of tea and coffee in the room and at breakfast. The full English breakfast is filling and tasty, and there... More

A trip from NZ with my daughter cumulated in a fantastic reunion with my oldest friend and her daughter in the wonderful Aquila Heights. It felt like home from home - we were welcomed, cared for without being fussed over and there was absolutely every amenity available. The attention to detail makes a stay here superb. The location is ideal,... More

I loved my stay at Aquila Heights! Joan, the landlady, treats her guests like family members and she is always ready to help: she came to pick me up at the train station (a very pleasant surprise, since I was wondering where to find a taxi) and she provided me with tons of information about the local curiosities and the... We visited the UK this summer for 17 days.First, Thomas Hardy country in Dorchester, then Oxford where my wife took a week long course on Jane Austen, then final three days in London. The start of our trip was just great because we stayed at Aguila Heights, where the owner, Joan, pampers her guests, and the home is so beautiful. Breakfasts... More

This guesthouse was airy and clean and our room overlooked the countryside in the distance. The residential neighborhood was quiet. The walk into town took about 20-25 min. with busy streets that we found difficult to cross. There may be an easier way to walk that we were unaware of.
