We just came back from the Old Rectory after two nights. Wonderful place, lovely hosts, great breakfast, very clean and very peaceful. Caroline was very helpful before and during our stay. Super place and I really hope we can go back very soon.

I would go along with many of the comments already made, especially about Caroline's warm welcome, genuine & sustained interest, most helpful attitude in very practical ways, e.g. local sight-seeing tips & pubs. I would also go along with the suggested improvements that have already been mentioned, especially the need for a power shower in the Dorchester room's en-suite, and... More

Thank you very much for the lovely review and for highlighting the problem with the shower. We have just had a new power shower fitted as the pump was found to be faulty on the previous one. I am sorry it was not up to our usual standard! Thank you for the other ideas you suggested too and we look... More

My husband and I stayed with our 6 month old baby at the Old Rectory for a wedding of a good friend over 2 nights and we had the most lovely, relaxing stay. Caroline welcomed us in person when we arrived and showed us to our room that had also been upgraded. If we had needed a cot for the baby... More

I would definitely recommend this b and b to anyone. The rooms are exquisite and Caroline is a wonderful host, she is so accommodating. We stayed here on our wedding night in the Dorchester (gorgeous 4 poster bedroom) some of our close friends stayed also and we all had a wonderful breakfast in the morning, it was such a fabulous... We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Rectory. It is spacious, comfortable and up to date. Very welcoming and a high standard of accommodation. We liked the breakfast room very much as well as the breakfast itself. We will be returning.

Beautiful house. Charming host, Caroline, that couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Will definitely come again. Bed in the Dorchester room was huge and very comfy. Only slight disappointment was the shower, which was not quite a "power shower".

Thanks for your lovely review and the next guest mentioned the shower was not very powerful and we realised the hose was twisted affecting the amount of water coming through. It was easily fixed and ready for the next guests. Sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. More

My sisters and I had a very pleasant stay here. This truly is a delightfully charming place to stay. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated throughout. Our room was extremely spacious and provided a great nights sleep. The breakfast was superb. Fantastic hosts. A real gem that we will return to very soon.

When I booked Caroline said they were full, but offered us the old school house, which is normally a self catering let. I'm pleased she did, as it was a fantastic space to stay in with a lovely lounge and very comfortable bedroom - all newly converted and pristine throughout. We didn't see any of the rooms in the big... More

Our room was beautiful too very comfortable and spacious and immaculately clean. My partner and I have just enjoyed a great 2 night stay at The Old Rectory B&B. We were greeted very warmly by Caroline who showed us where breakfast was served, the communal lounge and up to our room (we stayed in Sherbourne) and all its facilities. First impressions were very good with no complaints and that remained throughout our... More
