My wife and I stayed in the Manor Hotel for 4 days on a walking holiday. On our arrival we were given a very friendly welcome (in the bar) and a tour of the hotel by the owner (Alison). The family-owned hotel has been renovated recently to a very high standard. Our freshly decorated room was on the top floor...

Stayed for weekend mid May as part of a group. The efforts by the new owners to put this place on the map are nothing short of a miracle. The attention to detail and the sheer hard work of all involved will I'm sure guarantee them the success they rightly deserve.
With the world full of economic gloom this level...

We would definitely recommend Manor House for the stunning position and the very good renovations which are in character with a lovely building. ALSO the extremely good food and service. Jessica has the touch - very professional.
It would be so great if you could do cafetieres of good strong coffee for breakfast - that would make all the difference....

My lovely Nigel booked this for a night away a very romantic location the owners have refurbed it beautifully and kept the character whilst providing first class amenities. Our room No 1 had a four poster bed sea view, was wonderfully warm and a great bathroom with corner bath and shower. We ate in the cellar bar which has a...

We've just stayed for two nights. Lovely, clean, nice family run establishment. Our room (3) was large with ensuite and great shower. The present owners apparently have been the less than a year. They have refurbished it well. We were made very welcome even when we came back after having checked out, because we'd been walking and were soaked through...

My first choice of hotel was fully booked and whilst I was ambling down the coast road I remembered this hotel but I also remembered that I had read some truly awful reviews of it! No matter, I was low on...

My stay at The Old Manor was a late Christmas present to me and I somehow managed to choose the coldest weekend of the year so far.
Friendly welcome. Lovely soup for lunch and excellent evening meals in the cellar bar; it isn't often that there are two vegetarian options on the menu. And (so I'm told) good beer too....

This lovely old stone- flagged manor house fills the gap nicely between Abbotsbury and Bridport on the Jurassic Coast. We have eaten here three times in the last couple of months and find it to be consistently good. Service is friendly and professional; the decor in the cellar bar is warm and inviting, and the dining room is stylish in...

A hotel we loved years ago that, after a period in the doldrums, has taken on a new lease of life under new management. Took friends for dinner in the restaurant and the food, service and setting were all excellent - we will be going back! All the rooms are gradually being done over and the Manor is shaking off...
