We were staying in room 1 in the main building, the room was large clean and well organised. Large flat screen TV and plenty of storage space, however the mattress is probably past it's best. The bathroom was large and very clean, only downside is that the shower is the hand held mixer tap variety. We didn't use the bar... More

After reading the reviews I decided to book a room at the George in Dorchester. The village is very pretty and great for walks, our room was located in a motel style building off of the car park, to say it was awful was an understatment, I would have rather drove the 85 miles home than sleep in the room.... We booked online, arrived to find they were hosting a private party. Husband and I stood in the middle of a dark disco hall feeling as though we were intruding as we waited to be checked in! We were taken to our family room. Lady explained that our room wasn't completely ready ( didn't arrive til 5pm) and promised to... More

I came here during a very busy week in Dorchester when everything else was booked out. I was pretty disappointed. The TV did not work, the toilet flushed only occasionally, there was no shower head in the bath. I could not get breakfast because I did not order it in advance when I booked. The disco downstairs until 2 am... More

We booked through Expedia and on arrival were unable to access the hotel. Nobody answered the doorbell or the phone. I called Expedia and spent over an hour on the phone attempting to cancel the booking. They finally got through to the owner who claimed to have been in all day. In total we wasted most of the day with... More

Myself and a friend were very late in booking a room to stay for the night after a wedding nearby. We stayed in a twin bedroom which was very simple, no frills but had everything we needed - it was clean, had fresh towels, tea making things and toiletries etc. If you want a very quiet weekend retreat this may... Reasonable Hotel and value, responses to emails as part of the booking process were a bit on the slow side at times. Breakfast was OK, tho' a bit later than we'd hoped for.

We had booked and paid for our room online and got a confirmation back confirming our booking. Therefore we were very suprised to find the George closed and no amount of ringing the door bell got somebody to open up. When we phone their number all we got was an answer phone message. We were at a loss as to what to... More

Where do I start, on arrival only one of our two rooms booked were ready. The twin room was dark and dingy with a shower tucked in the corner, no privacy what so ever and it looked nothing like the photo in the brochure. My teenage daughter and her friend were not happy. I went to use the WC along... More
