We couldn't have wished for better place to stay for our 3 night break. Geoff and Pauline were amazing hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious with an en suite shower room, a lovely big comfortable bed and a seating area to sit and relax, enjoy our tea and biscuits (all provided) and watch... More

Last minute booking that turned out well. Our room was ensuite, very well furnished and comfortable, and had a lovely aspect which overlooked the rear garden. Jacqui was our host, and she was extremely welcoming and helpful. She also presented a very tasty breakfast, with home made bread!

We picked this from Trip Advisor for a two night stay as we wanted to be able to walk to restaurants. Great from that point of view, but be aware that the car parking is not easy. Lantern House has space for 2 or at a pinch 3 cars behind the house in another very narrow road but it not... More

Such a great BnB! Our room was large and overlooked the gardens. We had an ensuite and a sitting room to enjoy the tea and biscuits provided. Breakfast was great and Pauline and Geof make you feel so welcome. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here while doing Dorset ridgeway walk. Very welcoming people. Parking on nearby street. Bathroom was not ensuite but was for our exclusive use. Very clean and nice room with comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

My husband and myself stayed at Lantern House for two nights in May while visiting family. Pauline and Geof made us feel at home straight away. We were given the Saffron room which overlooks the gardens. It was spotlessly clean and cleaned each day with fresh towels. Breakfast was lovely with good quality produce. Thank you both again for a... More

My husband and I stayed one night at The Lantern House on our way back from a visit to our daughter in Wiltshire. We had a lovely warm welcome from Geoff and Pauline. We stayed in the front room which was spacious, clean and well furnished. A very short walk took us to the main tourist sites in Dorchester. The... More

I booked this room for a short half term break in Dorset. My partner is quite fussy, and I am gluten free, so we wanted somewhere quiet, large-ish and comfortable, that would accept my dietary requirements. This B&B ticked all the boxes. Situated on a quiet road, opposite a little park, near enough to town to walk, it is well furnished.... More

It's a good time to be thinking about Summer holidays, and I would like to make a warm recommendation of the Lantern, where my wife and I enjoyed an extremely enjoyable stay last Summer. There were many agreeable features in our stay--an excellent breakfast, served in surroundings that enabled you to enjoy the hotel's hospitality to its fullest, comfortable airy... More

Enjoyable stay, lovely and clean room, nice and warm with good breakfast. It has a great location, easy stroll into town to visit museums and restaurants. Very friendly owners who make you very welcome.
