We chose this accommodation for the Bournemouth Air Festival. Most enjoyable stay, spotless, stayed in the green room Pauline and Geoff great hosts pay lots of attention to detail. Superb breakfast, great choice freshly cooked and prepared. We usually stay in large chain hotels we are glad we broke the habit. Anyone running b&b`s should stay here to see how... More

Absolutely lovely couple - Pauline and Geoff. Room was pristine with lovely touches (coffee, tea, soaps, etc). Great location to restaurants - just walk out the front door and go either direction .... restaurants available in just a few minutes. Many thanks, Jordan and Scott (Yankees living in Harrogate:)

We don’t usually do small B&Bs but we had decided to spend a night in Dorchester to take a look at the town and neighbouring Poundbury and the Lantern House came up well recommended. And so it should be. Pauline and Geof are excellent hosts - welcoming, ready to help advise you on their surroundings – and both have very... More

We were in Dorchester for 9 days for the Thomas Hardy Festival & Conference and could hardly have found a better place to stay. Very nice and professional owners, excellent breakfast (fresh fruit, home-baked bread), room very clean, lovely beds. No parking problems and the location is really great with the park opposite and the centre of town just around... More

We stayed here for the May day weekend and thought that the place was excellent. Everything was good quality and no corners are cut. The breakfast was of the highest quality, and nothing is too much trouble for Pauline and Geoff, the proprietors In the bedroom, the bed is very comfortable, the room was spotless. We were in the green... More

This is a large Edwardian house which is within a short walk of Dorchester town centre. I was welcomed on arrival by my friendly host and taken up to my room, the Green Room. This is on the first floor at the rear of the house. It has the usual facilities – en-suite shower, tea/coffee making (very nicely presented). The... More

I loved staying here, the owner went above and beyond to be of assistance to me. My room was always immaculate, with a freshly made bed and emptied bins. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, my en-suite bathroom was immaculate, though the shower was lacking in water pressure that certainly didn't take away from my experience as a whole. The house... We stayed here on our wedding night. The hosts were perfect and extremely accommodating. The room was spotless and of a modern decor. It was a really good sized room and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had lots of choice of fresh produce and a super cooked breakfast. The hosts came into to speak with us both and... More

Great hosts, great rooms, everything clean and tidy, breakfast is spot on. Needed winter quilt on as was cold in the night, parking at rear on road (limited spaces) could be a problem if arriving late,

Geof and Pauline made us feel truly at home, such charming hosts. The house was characterful, warm and a delight. The garden was well maintained and such a pleasant addition. Everything was clean and tidy. Parking at the rear was a boon. Breakfast was all you would wish for, ranging from yoghurt, fresh fruit and cereal, to toast and a... More
