new broom sweeps clean ---new management team at the king's this time round. this was a different experience( this was our fifth visit) the staff were mostly new and probably needed a little time to settle, all staff friendly and helpful . Hope to see them again next year all being well.

Nice Hotel with friendly staff. Very good breakfast with lots of options to chose from with excellent service. Rooms were quiet for restful sleep. Hotel is clean with lots of character. Very reasonable and centrally located.

We stayed in the room with the uneven floor; yes it has a slope but hardly something to go crazy about. Our room was quirky and very spacious indeed, which matched in supporting a comforting 8 day stay. The other half got to sleep in while I could sit on the couch reading my books in the morning without the... More

All staff were very pleasant, uniforms might make them all look a bit smarter though. Breakfast was very tasty & relaxed. Room was a nice size & lots of character. Bedside lamp didn't work & couldn't draw curtains properly. Sloping furniture was amusing, don't put a bottle of wine on table as it will slide right off!! Bathroom could have... More

The hotel's bit of London Road is down at heel, at best, and inside the reception areas hint at grander times. Clean and tidy though and far better than the exterior of nearby buildings might have suggested. Our room through a warren of corridors was found to be unready. Without fuss we were given some keys and, somewhat unpromisingly, directed... More

This is a centre of the town hotel which has a great history as an old coaching inn. We arrived with a coachload of 'grey' walkers and none had any negative comments about the hotel and the food. They enjoyed the bar and the arrangements for dinner and breakfast. The service was excellent and the staff did all that was... More

For those wishing to visit the quaint town of Dorchester, this would logically make an ideal retreat. It's a shame that the bar has no 'buzz.' The food is good and hot~ although the prices are over what you would pay around town~ it basically has lost its soul and former shine. For a one nighter it would seem fair... More

a nice hotel in the centre of Dorchester. Really clean all of the staff are really friendly and Helpful. The free Wi-Fi is pretty good. Rooms are have plenty of space. Single beds pushed together does not make a double room in my opinion and the floorboards dont half make a racket.

Reviews were mixed so we weren't sure what to expect, but there didn't seem to be much choice in the centre of Dorchester. Despite an offhand welcome, with no offer to show us to our room in an annexe (we wandered round the car park for a bit) or to help with our bags (a steep staircase involved), on the... More

We stayed here for a night on the way home from Cornwall. A comfortable hotel in centre ot town with everything you need. The bedroom was large with settee, 50 inch tv and very large double bed.Shower was good and powerful. The hotel has been improved since our last visit, breakfast used to be in the bar area but now has...
