We stayed 2 nights in March in Yalbury Cottage while exploring "Hardy Country" and the Jurasic Coast. This is an extremely beautiful area, and Yalbury Cottage is a very convenient location. The rooms are cozy and nice...but the most outstanding feature is the restaurant...it is fabulous! The breakfasts are good, but the dinners are really special...and you get a bit... More

We stayed overnight as it is situated in a convenient location for an early ferry from Weymouth. We were extremely well looked after with friendly efficient service. Our bedroom was well supplied, with extra touches such as home-made biscuits and fresh milk being particularly appreciated. The food was interesting and tasty. We invited an elderly relative to dine with us.... More

Such a great little break where we were made to feel very welcome. In all honesty we went for the food as heard it was impressive. We took the dog with us as we thought £7.50 was reasonable especially as we could take him for a nice walk which we did on a route recommended by the staff. The hotel... More

We chose Yalbury cottage from the internet because we were going to see our grand daughter at a dressage competition at Kingston Maurward. If you are looking for somewhere convenient for there or Dorchester this is the place. Literally 5mins by car to the show ground. It is very easy to find, coming from the east on the A35 it... More

My wife and I just got back from a memorable weekend, staying at a Yalbury Cottage. James, welcomed us and looked after us faultlessly and nothing was too much bother. The room was lovely and breakfast was incredible. We were so fortunate that we were able to have Sunday lunch because of a lower number in another party. Ariane, was... More

We regularly visit Yalbury Cottage with our friends for a special treat about every three or four months and we are never disappointed. We had dinner there last night (Saturday 1st February 2014) and the food is to die for. We could not find fault with any aspect of our dinner. The starters were amazing, the main courses (we all... 5 generations together at the Yalbury cottage to celebrate a 90th birthday. It couldn't have been better. The accommodation was perfect.. Since we had ALL the rooms, I know they are ALL great. And the food was fantastic. With an x 4 Season exec chef running the kitchen, how could it be anything but great. A weekend in the UK... More

Just back from a lovely stay at Yalbury Cottage. It was my first time staying at a B&B and it was a rather lovely experience. The food is where this place really comes into it's own. The owners are lovely also, really keen to help with anything you may need. From an extra bed in our room for our young... More

The rooms are perhaps a little dated and could do with revamp but the location is beautiful. We came for an anniversary stay. The welcome was warm and the hotel homely. The food however was to die for. The chef is a genius. Dinner was fantastic. I don't know quite how we managed it but also couldn't resist the tremendous... More
