Parking is an issue and is located 5 minutes walk away. Well signed and costs about £4 per day, but runs out at 8am the following morning so requires a further trip to the car park before breakfast. Warm Irish welcome and we were shown to a small room dominated by a four poster bed! Unwilling to open windows as... More

This is a lovely guest house on the main street of Dorchester. We had a great welcome from the staff and a delicious breakfast the next morning. The room was delightful. We will certainly return again.

Was made to feel very welcome apon arrival at the hotel, rooms were cleaned to a very high standard and was told times for breakfast etc. Couldn't fault this hotel, parking was in the other street but not a problem as it was only a 2min walk!! All around lovely.

Lovely guest house on one of the main streets in the centre of Dorchester. Stayed here recently to enable us to enjoy eating at Mat Follas restaurant. We had a lovely room decorated in traditional style with a four poster bed. We were greeted by friendly staff who helped with whatever request we had. The bed was comfortable and rooms... More

It's always the best feeling when you come away from somewhere content. Our stay was for 2 nights, one of the reasons being to have the Mat Follas dining experience (which I highly recommend). We had a few changes with our booking (3 rooms for 6 people) and all were accommodated with ease. The owners and staff gave us a... More

My son was getting married on 18 October in Puddletown so we wanted a nice hotel nearby in the area's main town, Dorchester. My future daughter-in-law and my son checked out the available hotels and recommended The Casterbridge to us. They were right to do so. Consequently, friends and family also booked up here as well. We arrived by hire... More

Stayed here for a dinner bed and breakfast package. I've reviewed dinner separately. Friendly welcome on arrival and very helpful instructions to the parking (free after 6 and on Sundays). Gorgeous room! Incredibly comfy four poster bed, some beautiful furniture, nice little bathroom. We showered in the evening and the water was incredibly hot but was fine in the morning.... More

Had trouble parking when we arrived. Parking is either on the High Street or in a local car park. The High St is pay per hour, free overnight but you would need to get out there at 8.00am to put a new ticket on. Local car park cheap but a way to carry your bags. The Hotel advertises free local... Unfriendly greeting! Felt like we were unwelcome on arrival. Room was extremely small and the shower had little to no power. The morning was better as breakfast was cooked really well. Basically I would not stay here again. Massively over priced. For future guests we recommend to not arrive late as this was clearly an inconvenience and we were made... More

Sorry you felt that way, but our reception is open one hundred and one hours per week. You arrived nearly three hours after our advertised time and it was ten past midnight but you had arrived in town many hours earlier. Perhaps you should have selected a property that has a night porter, or collect a key ealier so as... More
