Received the warmest of welcomes by the chef who turned out to be a "BBC master chef" winner, sadly didn't get to sample his food as were staying to attend a nearby wedding. The owners were equally delightful and more than helpful (even posting back at no expense to us our left items!). Rooms were spotless and charming, breakfast delicious... More

Friendly owners and staff. A nice clean, comfortable room. And a tasty breakfast to boot. Everything you need from a hotel, without any fuss. Would definitely stop here again and wouldnt think twice about recommending it to others!

Good welcome from friendly owners and staff. Good breakfast, but early out. Wifi not available in top floor rooms, which are accessed by very steep narrow steps and the rooms overlooking the main road are very noisy. Well equipped bedroom, just a good b & b.

My family and I stayed at the Casterbridge along with some friends, including the bride because we were attending a wedding at nearby Kingston Maurwood. Everyone was really helpful and accommodating. I follow a gluten free diet and they were good enough to supply me with gluten free bread etc. All the bedrooms were well presented and comfortable and we... More

We considered ourselves lucky to have found this charming and comfortable hotel. Originally we booked up because we wanted to dine at Mat Follas's restaurant (which he runs on Friday and Saturday evening at the Casterbridge), and because the hotel had had some excellent reviews. It exceeded our expectations: the room was immaculate, generously-sized, and very comfortable. The service was... More

Nothing spectacular but perfectly adequate and after all beggars can't be choosers if you only want to stay on a Saturday night. Lots of hotels wanted us to stay two nights or not at all! We received a nice welcome, the room was spacious and although was at the front on the road, wasn't too noisy even with the window... More

I stayed here for one night following a friends wedding. The staff when I arrived were friendly, very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful as is the rest of the hotel. Breakfast is fantastic and again the staff are really attentive, polite and welcoming. A really lovely stay - thank you

We have just returned from a relaxing three night stay in this charming, wisteria-clad hotel ideally situated in Dorchester. The owners were warm & welcoming - and a mine of useful local information, including restaurants. Breakfast was a treat and our room boasted a luxurious four-poster bed which, sadly, we were not allowed to take home! If you want quiet,... More

We stayed in this lovely hotel as a group of 8; we were made to feel very welcome by all of the staff The hotel has a spacious feel to the communal areas + is decorated in a traditional style. Our rooms were all very comfortable + clean although our room on the second floor was quite small compared to... More

We stayed in this lovely little hotel in central Dorchester as we were visiting family in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was well located in the high street, but the rooms were very quiet at night. Breakfasts were good and cooked to order. The building the hotel is quite old, and has an interesting... More
