It never ceases to amaze me that public opinion can be so perverse. A bit like the art word. So the fox, first find it, my satnav was looking for other nocturnal furry animals. Once located an imposing building. Book in was straight forward with a bit of Yorkshire male bonding thrown in. Main bar very welcoming, bedroom large, bed... More

Like a couple of other people we had booked a room here based partly on all the great reviews so were a little concerned about the recent poor one but we had no need to worry, this place is lovely. Our room was nicely furnished, clean, comfortable, everything worked and the bathroom had obviously been recently modernised as it was... More

If you are looking to escape the tourist traps of London, seek out this quaint and friendly Inn located in the the back country lanes of rural Dorchester. Our bedroom was huge and beautifully decorated and well appointed with a large and very comfortable bed and modern, large bathroom. Had tea and coffe making facilities. The owner was very welcoming... More

We found The Fox Inn online while searching for a dog friendly place to stay. Some places pay lip service to 'Dog Friendly'. These people were genuinely dog lovers and helped us to search for a suitable beach nearby. The room was airy and spotless (no flies!) a huge comfy bed and excellent food. We were made to feel very... More

Looking to buy a property in the area, rang for accommodation and ended up staying for 2 nights. Food was excellent, the Landlord was very helpful and friendly as were the staff. Will stay there again shortly. No hesitation of recommending it to friends and family. Full marks and then some!

We stayed two nights here; there was a really dreadful recent review which was of concern, but the response was so well-handled, we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. The staff were lovely; very welcoming and friendly. There was a good range of beer, the room had plenty of storage space and the shower was top-notch.... More

A little off the beaten track but nestling in the beautiful Dorset countryside so is worth the effort to drive approx. 15 minutes to get to main roads and towns. Large rooms with en-suite and king-sized beds. Superb breakfast - cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, juice and a choice of three cooked breakfasts to follow. Coffee unfortunately was luke warm and... Just returned home following a night away for our wedding anniversary. So pleased that we didn't take any notice of the previous review. We found our top floor room great value, spotless ( no flies!), huge bed and even though the TV wasn't particularly big, it didn't matter as we were there for the fantastic walking rather than watching TV!... I chose this hotel because of the website, it makes the hotel look lovely, however...the pictures of this hotel on the website do not reflect the hotel in its true light AT ALL! On arrival i was told that i had been upgraded to a better room, i thought brilliant! I opened the room to my door and i could... More

Due to the slanderous nature of this review, we felt is necessary to clarify some of the issues raised by this lady. She states she booked our hotel after looking at our website. This is not the case. The room was booked on her behalf by a booking company called 'Booking Partners'. They find suitable hotels for their customers and... More

At the end of yet another walk, decided to try the carvery at The Fox. Well......I don't think I have ever seen such a large selection of vegetables in my life, all lovely and hot and each one tasty. If you cant find something here, you are not trying! I had two of the meats available, found the beef very... More
