We had the pleasure of staying at Hazel Cottage for 2 nights in April 2013. Our upstairs room was perfect, spotlessly clean and comfortable with fantastic views. There were many extra little touches that made it feel like home. The house was also really peaceful, quiet and in a lovely setting. Penny and Charles were perfect hosts, very attentive and... More

A thoroughly enjoyable stay with Penny and Charles who made us feel totally at home in their home. Quality details such as the tea and fresh coffee including a flask of milk in the room were oustanding. So too was the comfort and immaculate bedroom and bathroom. It was absolutely perfect in every way, and wish we could have stayed... More

A relaxing and welcoming B&B in a very pretty and tranquil village. Penny and Charles are the perfect hosts, providing delicious breakfasts using local produce and excellent advice on where to go and what to see. We couldn't have wished for a better holiday. Absolutely recommend that you visit.

Breakfasts are excellent.Quality food, variety fresh fruit ,cereals yoghurt and cooked. Downstairs room well presented, practical and comfortable. Penny and Charles are very welcoming pleasant and friendly hosts. Reasonably priced, definetly recommend.

This was quite the best Bed and Breakfast that we have ever stayed in. The beautiful first floor bedroom had every home comfort imaginable, was most tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Imaginative extras included a pot of ground coffee and a cafetiere, Earl Grey tea and slices of lemon - not your usual hotel tea and coffee tray! Breakfasts were... More

There's not a lot I can add to all the other reviews below. Hazel Cottage has a beautiful garden and is in a quiet Dorset village, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed (upstairs) was second only to my own bed at home from a comfort point of view, the breakfasts were excellent too. Penny & Charles were perfect... More

Recently spent two nights at Hazel Cottage Sydling St Nicholas. Were made to feel very welcome by Penny & Charles the owners straight away with a very welcome drink. We stayed in the larger first floor bedroom which was very comfortable and beautiful. Breakfasts were ample and there was a lot of choice. The fact that you can take advantage... More

We visited Hazel Cottage in what was probably one of the wettest weeks this summer (July 2012), but even so, we were delighted and not disappointed in any way with the quality of care and attention shown to us by Charles and Penny which more than made up for the weather. We have stayed at Hazel cottage on several occasions... More

Engaging and sociable hosts who make you feel welcome, and put you at ease from the minute you arrive. Lovely clean tidy bedroom, and excellent breakfasts which offer good choice. Hosts are very helpful, in that they shared their excellent local knowledge with us, suggesting alternative routes which offered the best sea views, or gave us ideas for local attractions... More

We have stayed at many a B&B and Hazel Cottage is one of the best. The downstairs room is very comfortable and well equipped with an excellent shower and an amazing collection of books. We loved the little extras - flowers from the garden, a carafe of water and a thermos of fresh milk. The breakfast was delicious - perfect... More
