Had a delightful lunch. Mussels followed by faggots (first time ever) and my wife had a salad - chicken with avacado etc - also faggots for the main course. £12.95 for two courses excellent value. The welcome was warm and very friendly and the service exemplary. Well worth a visit.

Just got back from a wonderful Easter break at the Greyhound with two nights accommodation, one evening meal and another evening meal at one of the sister pubs, the Saxon at Stratton. The accommodation is of a very good quality, spacious and decorated in a shabby chic style. The pub itself is cosy and the food is superb with a... More

After visiting the first time and was so delighted with the food it was only right to return! This time was just as amazing, my partner had the duck with fresh vegetables and I had the homemade beef and boar burger, both were so well presented and tasted even better! For dessert my partner had the banoffee cheesecake and salted... More

A wonderful break in a delightful country Inn.Excellent food, the Fish Pie is highly recommended. Full English Breakfast was included and cooked freshly to order. The rooms are immaculate, very comfortable beds. Lovely friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble. The Garden area will be amazing in the Summer. Will definitely be visiting again.

Stumbled on this oasis and delighted to have done so. The village is like a Hardy film set with trout stream meandering through. The Inn is welcoming, expertly furnished, and very comfortable. There are even varied sized Wellington Boots to borrow and recommended walks to use them on. The bar is welcoming, as are the bar and waiting staff. Food delicious... More

Popped in for a quick Saturday supper. Used to frequent the restaurant 6 years ago but have not ventured in since. What a pleasant surprise! Pleasant greeting and we were shown to a table with the minimum of fuss. Menu was very varied and not too large. Food was great and the service attentive. Well priced menu and very pleasant... More

I have been once before, a friend had recommended it. And it was ok maybe a bit out of budget for me. Pub was a bit dark and worn. Beer and food was what I could have got if I had stayed in Dorchester town. Had read in the local echo the pub had changed hands to a local wife... More

This real gem in a beautiful village just north of Dorchester was our chosen venue for dinner on Saturday evening after a hard day of walking. We got talking to Scott, the chef, as we had our pre-dinner drink and discovered that the pub had been sold and so, in mid-November, the current staff, including the wonderful chef, are moving... We have regularly visited this pub and the service has always been excellent, On our last visit the food was excellent but both the gin and tonic and the white wine were warm. It appears the wine cooler had broken down. It may be that they had a temporary team on that night but they need to improve their customer... More
