We decided to have a meal just the two of us inbetween all these christmas meals and wanted something a bit more sophisticated. We had heard the greyhound had recently been taken over and we live in dorchester so thought it would be lovely to have somewhere not too far out to go to... and we shall be returning! My... More

I have been once before, a friend had recommended it. And it was ok maybe a bit out of budget for me. Pub was a bit dark and worn. Beer and food was what I could have got if I had stayed in Dorchester town. Had read in the local echo the pub had changed hands to a local wife... More

This real gem in a beautiful village just north of Dorchester was our chosen venue for dinner on Saturday evening after a hard day of walking. We got talking to Scott, the chef, as we had our pre-dinner drink and discovered that the pub had been sold and so, in mid-November, the current staff, including the wonderful chef, are moving... We have regularly visited this pub and the service has always been excellent, On our last visit the food was excellent but both the gin and tonic and the white wine were warm. It appears the wine cooler had broken down. It may be that they had a temporary team on that night but they need to improve their customer... More

We came upon this place quite by chance when we were in the area on a business trip. We were early for lunch, but the place was welcoming with a lovely fire. The menu was interesting and the food that we chose was perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

What a fabulous place in a brilliant little village. Found after research on the net and not disappointed. Lovely quiet room and really good imaginative food in relaxed surroundings. Friendly staff and well worth returning.

After a lot of research my husband and I decided to head here for lunch during a recent stay near Bournemouth. We arrived with our 18month old son and were shown to our table by a lack lustre barman/ waiter. No menus were given but we we're offered drinks. I was able to order our sons lunch immediately (averting hunger... More

On a long and hungry trip across the country, we were given directions to this place after stopping at a pub on the main road who had stopped serving food. We were already impressed with the well presented exterior when we walked in at just before 9pm. The very friendly barman said we could eat if we ordered in the... More
