The Chequers Hotel offers a traditional and homely stay in the seaside town of Bournemouth. Located on the West Cliff, the hotel is just one road back from the sea and about a ten minute walk from the seafront attractions and town centre, and with bus stops directly outside the public transport is on the doorstep which is beneficial for... We did a one night stay. It was ok. The hotel is clean and tidy. You can't say fairer than that. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. I say staff I only ever saw one lady who was receptionist and waitress and I suspect everything else. The room was either excellently retro late 80's, even down to the... More

We stayed there for one night during the Bank Holiday weekend and really liked the place. The check-in was swift and friendly; the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was of a good size, cosy and clean. Nice bathroom with a good, strong shower; the only slight negative is no shampoo or anything provided apart from a soap.... More

Stayed here to go to a concert at the BIC. Good location, friendly staff and a large car park ( we could leave the car all day & after checking out if we wished). Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with tv, tea/coffee etc but no hairdryer or toiletries ( apart from soap). Sadly the over the bath shower... More

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews and were pleased with our choice. Room lovely and clean, bed comfortable, car park and easy walk to the beach. It is far enough away from the noise but with an easy walk to the town. We have been to Bournemouth for the last 5 years for the air festival and have... More

Wanted a cheap place to stay to go to a wedding in the area. This place was cheaper than the budget chains. The room was a good size with a sofa. It was clean and warm. The hotel where the wedding was felt cold so it was nice to come back to this warm hotel. The breakfast was nice. If... More

Mr partner and I stayed here a few weeks ago, mid September, as a cheap stopover while I settled my daughter into her UNI. We weren't expecting much from the price and pictures, but figured we would put up with it for one night, as it was not really a 'holiday'. I was very pleasantly surprised! The hotel was very... Ideal location for BIC and shopping. Very clean and well presented room, with a double bed and a single, with clean bathroom. Shower was a disappointment, with very sparse and slow lukewarm water, even on full power on as hot as possible. Although they say there are irons and hairdryers, there is a £10.00 deposit, and you have to ask... More

We had a family room and a double and the double was nice (think it was the one in the picture) but the family room was along a warren of corridors (which smelt of stale smoke) and was long and thin meaning you had to squeeze past the ends of the beds, not great with 2 kids in the room... More
