We stayed at Avalon beach hotel for a hen weekend. It’s a really stylish boutique hotel with friendly owners. Our room was Hector which was self catering and a good size. It had everything we needed and was v well equipped, stylishly furnished and would be perfect for a small family. The decking outside was also lovely! Little touches included... more

I originally reviewed this hotel when I last stayed in September 2008. Just been back for the first time since then. Pleased to report still as good as before. Rooms still look fresh & very clean. I defy anyone to have had a better breakfast anywhere. Also free wi fi provided which whilst this should be the norm is not.... more

Visiting Bournemouth for a university open day we travelled with a 17 yr old and 4 yr old, for a two night stay. A warm welcome, and then shown to our room by Paul the owner. Our family room (Galahad) was at the top front of the building and immediately struck as as clean and well presented. Lots of white... more

A great place to stay if you want to have access to Bournemouth but without being slap bang in the bucket and spade zone. Avalon is about a three minute walk to a lovely stretch of beach with facilities and about 10 minutes by car into the town centre. We stayed in one of the mini-apartments which was well fitted-out... more

Have stayed at the Avalon Beach Hotel twice now and have enjoyed both stays thoroughly. On both occasions we have had dinner at the hotel and found it to be superb. Nothing is too much trouble with special requests catered for - without question. In fact we have found the food to be on a par or better than most... more

This was our second visit this year and we returned with our very pregnant daughter and her husband. We had raved about this hotel so much and were so pleased it certainly lived up to our expectations again. The owners continue to be so helpful, cheerful and friendly - what more could you ask for!! Rooms are lovely and clean,... more

At last, we have found a small seaside hotel in the UK that is comfortable, friendly, good-value and completely toddler-friendly. And it is five minutes from the beach in Bournemouth's quietest area. We stayed in a duplex suite - 'Uther' (there is a vague Arthurian theme). Plenty of room for us and our son. Everything spotless and comfortable, clean and... more

Was pleasantly surprised with this place. More of an upscale B&B than a 'hotel' as such but all rooms very clean and tastefully decorated thoughout. Very comfortable beds and pretty breakfast and lounge rooms. Good sized showers and bathrooms but water pressure variable. Guests have access of a computer with broadband which was very useful and parking was very easy.... more

Thank-you for taking the time to review our hotel. As you remarked we go out of our way to ensure our guests are having an enjoyable time & we always enquire about the quality of the food, wine, services etc. We are confident our chef produces top quality food every day but we still ask every customer if the food is...

What a briiliant find. It's like a home from home. Rooms are comfortable. Food is excellent, including the evening meals, and the road it is on is quiet. Patricia and Paul go out of their way, to make your stay as nice as possible, and what a lovely couple. They also have a lovely back garden, with rabbits and toys.... more

We had a lovely couple of nights at the Avalon in late March. The owners are very friendly and incredibly welcoming. Although not in Bournemouth, it is a nice 2 mile walk to Bournemouth on the beach. The food is a very good standard and the breakfast, especially eggs benedict, is brilliant. The rooms have been recently decorated and are... more
