This hotel is definitely NOT recommended. The reception area is tatty and uninviting, the lounge bar is not clean-dust can we found everywhere. Similar thing in the bedroom- not cleaned to a satisfactory standard, and my wife had to purchase a mould and mildew spray to get rid of the mould in the bathroom. The food was OK but that's... I spent one night as unexpected stay in Bournemouth and I opted for this hotel. Checking in is quick, rooms are spacious and clean. Overall satisfied but heating seemed to be off and loads of light bulbs needs replacing.

What a dreadful place! Must be the worst hotel in bournemouth. The room we were given was small and cramped, the decor was awful, stained wallpaper with damp mould. The bed was rock hard and lumpy, tried to have a nap in afternoon and ended up with a bad back. Bathroom had musty smell, paint peeling off windows and nasty... More

After booking a room in advance at the Brittania we drove up on the forecourt to find a rather dark empty reception. A note on the door informed us that the hotel was closed for refurbishmen. We rang the bell which was answered by a lady telling us sorry we are closed ! we informed her we had booked and... More

I had booked a 5 day coach trip to Bournemouth with trepidation, especially when I read the reviews for the Britannia. We were, however, pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in need of re decorating and updating but the room and the public areas were clean. The room had no view to speak of, but then we weren't expecting anything for... More

Booked room only here at short notice for Saturday night. Firstly, I got a double room (more of that later!) for £25 and the staff were very welcoming. That's the good stuff out of the way. Here we go with what was not good (check photos) #The bed most definitely was not a double, it was a three quarter with... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night and I must stay how pleasantly surprised we were. Yes it could do with modernisation but the room was very nice, clean, staff was always helpful and we had a lovely time. Would stay again.

On arrival staff were friendly, had room on second floor which was pretty disgusting in my opinion, could hear every footstep from surrounding rooms, why have these chain of hotels not been refurbished in years? They are all vile, managed to sleep until 2.30am until woken by someone having a domestic, was pretty scary, woman was screaming, will never stay... More

Firstly, I had a 50% reduction in price because I booked the day before. For this price, the hotel conditions are what i would expect, but if i was paying full price I would not be happy. As you have seen in other reviews, the hotel needs a makeover. Carpets are stuck together by tape. We also had to broken... More
