We was there for a friends weekend away so the room was just okay for what we needed but when we arrived there was dirty glasses, beers cans under the bed, rubbish on the window seal it was disgusting. The place in general is very unclean but as it just wanted somewhere to stay for the night it was fine

Don't waste your money. Shabby and scruffy hotel with absolutely no atmosphere. I complained about the noise from the room above who were playing very loud music shouting and swearing all night. They were asked to turn down the music but the constant noise carried on. All we were offered was a percentage off our next stay. There most certainly... More

First we booked the hotel and phoned to confirm only to be told that the hotel was closed and we had been moved to the Royal Bath we checked this twice!! When we arrived at the Royal Bath we were told that the britannia was not closed and to go back there. Very embarrassing, but OK we had stayed there... More

We enjoyed a January trip to this hotel with National Holidays. Lovely first floor room overlooking front of hotel which had been recently refurbished, Self service for meals - food hot and plentiful and a good variety. Our only complaint was that the heating didn't seem to be working very well and the dining room was very chilly indeed perhaps... More

Having read some terrible reviews about this hotel we arrived with an open mind, we found the staff pleasant, our room superb, the food really good with a decent act on each night of our 4 night stay. We went with friends and we all had a great time. The Hotel is being refurbished and is situated in an ideal... More

Me and my partner stayed at the Britannia for one night bed and breakfast. On our arrival the receptionist (in broken English) said to us.. Check in? Okay sign this. Here is key, room 124. I was shocked! We got to our room and again wasnt amazed at all. Not a bad sized room but VERY outdated! The bathroom was... More

I recommended a family friend to stay in this hotel who had come for his birthday from London. When returning from dinner at the crab restaurant, the night porter, a black African man with no name tag, demanded £15 cash from me just to go up to my friends room for 5 minutes! When I came back to reception to... More

I stayed at this hotel for four days over Christmas. After making the booking through David Urquhart I looked at the reviews below and was very concerned. However, I was quite satisfied with the hotel. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and as roomy as one would find in a more up-market hotel. There was a wide selection of... More
