We have stayed in lots of hotels in Bournemouth over the last few years as our son is at University there. This hotel was one of the best and offered great value at £49 b&b. Stayed for 1 night in a comfortable bed. Bathroom and shower were lovely. Both rooms nicely decorated to a high standard. Had the compact but perfectly... more

Just a fantastic hotel that is perfectly located for the beach and the town centre. The rooms are excellent with all modern ammenities and the outside of the hotel has kept it's historic look. The restaurant is excellent and really reasonably priced. Just a short walk into town for bars, restaurants and clubs. Was really impressed. more

We booked the Durley Dean hotel to stay on a Saturday night as we had tickets to see James Taylor at the BIC. The reason why we picked this hotel was, in the main, the lack of other hotels in Bournemouth on the internet. Alsi I wanted a swimming pool and to be within walking distance of the BIC. We... more

Faulty Towers! 3rd stay and enough is enough! Grubby, dirty carpets, smelly room, bad service, 30 year old lift that is so slow and small (with bags it's a problem as they don't offer to help you to your room). Poor car parking facilities, etc, etc, etc. I actually decided to check out and drive home (120 miles) and then... more

Having stayed in a number of hotels in Bournemouth over the years I can say that since they have refurbished the Durley Dean it is one of the better ones with a good location and two minutes walk from The Goat & Tricycle ( Good food and lots and lots of real ales ). I was lucky to have a... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night with our five year old son, whilst i cannot fault the accomodation as we had a large newly decorated family room, i am not so impressed with the customer service and management at this hotel. At breakfast the waitress was not properly trained to do her job and came and stood between... more

We came with our 5 year old for a 'beach break'. 1 minute from the hotel car park we were in the West Cliff park overlooking the beach. Down 130 steps and my daughter was running onto the sand. The room was lovely with a bathroom that matched scandinavian and german standards - something I've rarely seen in the UK!... more

We stayed one night Thu 28 May on the Folio hotels special offer £55 per room per night with dinner bed and breakfast. Lovely Victorian red brick hotel with original sash windows. Our rooms were refurbished with really nice decor (compares very favourably indeed to some of Bournemouth's more outdated accommodation stock), compact and very comfortable. Great comfy beds, plasma... more

The hotel is a pleasant 15 min walk into town along the beach or cliff top. It's clean and the staff are very friendly. Our initial room was tiny and overlooking a busy roundabout which was quite noisy. However we were moved to a better room which was comfortable enough. The breakfast was a farce though. We had to give... more
