Terrible beds, rooms not cleaned and maintained properly, showers did not work on a regular basis -sometimes only cold water-, no change of towels, dining room too small, long queues at the breakfast bar, sacks packed with laundry in the corridor, run-down hotel, guests verbally abusing other guests were not forced to leave the hotel, stag parties dominating the whole... more

Grotty little hotel - uncomfortable beds, showers that dont work and twin rooms that were cammed with extra beds so they could increase their revenue as they'd overbooked! Couldn't sleep due to the stench eminating from the ensuite. Dont stay here...! more

Lousy. Not told it was a STUDENT RESIDENCE before booking. Frequented by hen/stag types. No parking. Beds like marshmallows, mattresses no support. Showers are FREEZING cold. Lift is a safety hazard. Kept awake all night by rowdy screaming, shouting, banging on walls/doors, vomiting, rampaging drunk students, and the noisy lot from the "doss house" next door. Had to bar room... more

I stayed at the Maemar Hotel for a Stag Do in October 2008. Now it was only for one night and yest it beat sleeping on the streets (just) but my God please re-consider if you are going with a girlfriend or wife. Right benefits first. 1. Centrally located, a 5 minute walk from town. 2. Bar is open 24hrs.... more

It was our first time in Bournemouth and a last minute decison for a quick weekend break. We had a room which had excellent views. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help and the room itself was fantastic, large room and with a decent sized bed. The hotel is quiet (even when fully booked) and... more

This has got to be the worst hotel on the planet; I've actualy stayed in better hostels in developing countries then this 'hole' of a place! These were some of the main issues during my stay: No running water - yes you heard me right, there was no clean running water, so as a result I couldn't shower for the... more

I had gone to Bournemouth with my parents for an overnight stay. Since it was just a matter of one night I was looking at some place cheap, just good enough for sleeping and getting presentable as we'd be spending most of our time on the beach. Also I was searching a hotel just 3 days before the long weekend... more

The lobby looked ok when we arrived, it had a huge fish tank in the foyer although apon reflection i could have sworn i saw one of the fish mouthing "run for you lives" from behind the glass! The locks on the doors of the rooms were broken and a few members of our party were locked out for an... more
