Really disappointing stay. Room had mould, bedroom not like the website at all, infact very different !! bathroom dated, food awful, Bad service, flat drinks, no service with a smile, they just want to take your money and don't care about your relaxing experience. The customer service experience awful on following up the shocking stay. Spent a lot of money... More

The bad news/ reception very surly when bookong in,just had a rollocking from another guest.Room had no brochure re amenities or help with any services. Went for a ciggy in the rather tired terrrace area at 10pm & was speaking quitely to another guest when the residents of 202 opened window & asked us to be quiet. Dare not think... More

I booked through booking.com and was not aware of the 2 properties and was not given a choice. When we arrived - Sunday afternoon we pulled into the gardens and I thought I had the wrong place as it looked deserted - a dark empty car park, a skip and a pile of mattresses. A pleasant receptionist directed us to... More

Dear Jackijack, Thank you for your feedback. The guests at the Orchid Hotel pay more and have cooked breakfast included. The Orchid Gardens offers room inc continental breakfast on rates between £29-49 which fairly reflects on what you get. As advertised the Orchid Gardens offers budget accommodation, and due to the lift issues we do not advertise anywhere that we... More

The previous week I stayed at the Orchid Garden Hotel which is across the road. The Orchid Hotel is a step up with good quality rooms, Bar areas and Full English breakfast provided. The hotel was Quite and the room I had (117) was big and had a King size bed in it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to... More

I arrived on Saturday afternoon and checked in the main hotel and found I was staying over the road at Gardens. What a difference and down graded but the room was okay. Basic, had tea & coffee and looked clean ish - paint splattered over floors and carpets and cobwebs round windows etc. There was a lot of noise from... More

Stayed for 2 nights early October. Clean, comfortable and everything worked. Recommended for the price and great breakfast and the staff were helpful and friendly. If I had to state a negative the bar was rather basic but good pubs and restaurants just around the corner.

4 friends stayed in 2 twins in the Garden Rooms across the road from the main hotel for £43 per room! It was clean, tea and coffee making facilities and quite a big room - bit annoyed that we paid the same as the main hotel and they get full English but we were only offered continental, so didn't bother... I was really worried about staying here after reading the reviews, perhaps we were lucky as we were put in a room in the Hotel side, I did not see the dreaded "Gardens" side... Our room was very clean, spacious, shower working fine, lots of TV channels if that's what you want. Breakfast was very nice, with lots of choice,... More

Stayed here overnight in the gardens budget accommodation. It's over the road from the main hotel but plenty of parking spaces and just a short walk. Rooms are standard, impressed with the bathrooms in the rooms. A good standard of cleanliness and facilities. Will stay again with mates.
