Stayed for 3 nights with our Bowls Club Tour. Proprietors fixed up ouir Bowls matches - which were excellent. Hotel, though old and traditional is in an excellent location, near beach, gardens, public transport and town centre. Quality of rooms for the money were excellent. Cleanliness first class. Food very good, rapidly served. Bar facilities very good. Proprietors made you... more

A very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable room, very high standard of cleanliness both in bedroom & throughout the hotel. Staff all worked well together as a team & obviously got on well with each other as well as with the guests. Good standard of food, served quickly & efficiently. Great location, overlooking the Lower gadens & REALLY only a few... more

A short break at this hotel is worth every penny. The friendliness of the staff and their courtesy is outstanding. The cleanliness of the rooms and in all areas, is exceptional. The food is a treat to the tastebuds and every aspect of one's stay is taken care of, and the attention to detail by all members of staff, is... more

I don't agree with some of the previous reviews; the staff were extremely helpful and the food was lovely. We had no problems with anyone being nasty and it is certainly NOT faulty towers. Had we read any reviews here we may have been put off, but plese don't be, some people just love to moan. The Hotel is close... more

I specifically chose this hotel based on its award from Bournemouth Tourism as “Medium Hotel/ Guest Accommodation of the Year” in 2007. Sadly, our room (number 11) didn’t reflect the standard I would have expected from an hotel with such an award. The furniture in the room was old, old-fashioned and tired. No toiletries, apart from small bars of soap,... more

I stayed here for one night in September. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is extremely dated and is a maze of corridoors and passageways. EN SUITE BATHROOM tiny and obviously created by putting up a partition in what was originally a fairly large bedroom. Did not like the typically English way of set breakfast time... more

Have just spent 4 lovely days here. Having read the previous reviews, I was unsure if I had made a good choice, but need not have worried. I came with my mother in law who does not walk so fast these days, but the position of the hotel made our journeys so easy, getting to shops, buses and the pier... more
