Stayed at the Royal Exeter for an event at the BIC. Excellent location just across the road, and a short walk to the beach. Twin room was large, with basic, outdated, furnishings. Good first impressiions, very friendly check-in, easy parking. Room fairly basic but clean - recently refurbed bathroom. Strong smell of smoke in the corridors and slightly smokey in my room - unusual for a hotel to not be completely none smoking!
