I have stayed here several times before over the years, seeing this hotel from before its radical refurb up until now. I can honestly say, that the work done has improved teh standard and offering 3 fold. As we hadn't been in over 5 years, we decided to go back for a look after seeing the work done when visiting... more

Took my partner away for the weekend and I have to say we had a really great time. The Bars and Restaurant were Brilliant, even the Breakfast was Great ( even I couldnt eat it all, and thats saying a lot ! ). The bedroom was nice and big ( a bit noisey in the evenings with music from the... more

I booked to stay at the Royal Exeter as it was right opposite Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) where I was due to see Derren Brown. Being a single female, I wanted to be within walking distance of a hotel, so as not to be wandering around alone at night. Looking at the hotel website, It looked quite luxurious, so I... more

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Exeter and was very impressed by the staff and the communal areas (bars etc). Overall the hotel was of a good quality and the facilities lived up to expectations. The building is an old traditional building and, as such, the windows are old and almost impossible to close, which is a shame. The... more

I never write reviews but I felt I had to for this hotel. Both times my partner and I have stayed room only in this hotel. Both times I have found ample car parking, friendly service, large clean nicely presented rooms, trust worthy cleaners and such a brilliant location. I have been twice and love the barSo as well! The... more

We booked into the Exeter for one night only, and had we not to return home, would happily have stayed longer. The room was certainly not the most modern we have stayed in, but was a very good size, very clean, and extremely comfortable, and you could see the effort the hotel had gone to in order to make it... more

I booked into Bournemouth for a cruise leaving out of Southampton. Was a bit nervous of the town's "stag and hen" reputation, but the prices were right. After good research, I chose the Royal Exeter because of price, location and reviews on multiple sites (and in spite of some on here.) On the bus ride from the train station ,... more

After a recommendation I stayed at this hotel with friends. The bars are some of the best I have been to because they have a good balance of ages and great music/atmosphere/food. They had live music on until midnight(ish) and still had a good atmoshere late afternoon after the beach!! Rooms very reasonably priced and clean. more

Horrible time here; lift not working, food cold & not much of it. Soup-less than 2 spoonfuls- pollock (fish) was supposed to be roasted, instead was pan fried. Potatoes & veg did not arrive at all, had to tell waiter, when they arrived they were cold. was told no cider at all in hotel when I asked for half pint... more
