Have stayed here a number of times over the years, including last Sunday, and we have always been very satisfied . It doesn't seem to have changed much which ,on the whole, is probably a good thing. We had a large room on the first floor which was clean, spacious and did the basics well, apart from a sliding toilet... More

Room 24 was very warm by day and night , even with window open ,but apart from this a nice clean comfortable room and bathroom. Food was very tasty , with choices every day , and the staff were so pleasant and efficient . The minuses were ,the hotel was too far away to walk to the front ,as we... More

We booked the Ullswater for 2 nights, based partly on reviews, but largely as everything else within our price range was sold out. At just over £100 per night for the room, it was overpriced BUT I understand that this was due to demand, and that we made a choice to pay it, so this isn't a criticism. The guy... More

Great location, within easy walk of the coast, zigzag paths to the seafront, pier and chines. The staff are friendly; the beds comfortable; the rooms and public areas clean and warm. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner, and waiter service was good. All in all, an excellent three night stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Ullswater hotel. The staff were very polite and friendly, the room was clean. The wifi was sufficient and free and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Very traditional hotel with a funky old lift and a welcoming bar area. Great location, only a 5 minute walk to the town centre and sandy beach... More

WE booked this hotel as a last resort, during a very hot spell of weather and all our usual hotels were full. We were pleasantly surprised with the staff, bar/lounge area and breakfast. the only thing was that the room was small and overfurnished meaning that you had to clamber over a chair to go from bed to bathroom. The... More

We stayed for one night July 20th this year. Found the room to be clean and spacious. Overpriced for one night but it is the height of the season. Evening meal was basic so would prefer to go out. Staff very very pleasant. The owner a bit abrupt. The young lady who was on Monday night was a pleasure behind... More

This hotel is nice but has a couple of issues that would not be difficult to put right. The room was clean and quite spacious , although the shower room was a bit of a squeeze . Also breakfast is served for only one hour 8.30. - 9.30. which made things a bit of a rush in the morning .... More

Plenty of food served at breakfast and dinner. Good restaurant service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good easy walk down into town but a stiff walk back. I had just had a replacement knee so I used the hill to build up my muscles. Good Wi-Fi in the lounge. The sun shone into the lounge in the morning.I was on... More

We visited because they were running a murder mystery weekend so this may turn into a duel review. The first thing that is noticeable is that the building itself is old so it is quite quirky both inside and out. So one of the charms is the creaky stairs and floorboards and the old fashioned lift. Having said that the... More
