Stayed at the Hermitage for 2 nights. This is a great hotel which we booked based on its trip adviser rating. We were very happy with our choice, from the point we saw the hotel for the first time, to the time we checked out. It is in a superb location right at the sea front and has its own... More

Myself and parents dined in the a la carte restaurant here to celebrate mums birthday, first we were struck by the very 1970's vibe from the maître d's suit to the decor! Was slightly disappointed with the limited menu, but on the whole not with the food or service; 2 of us had scallops which were to die for, dad... More

We had a three night break and the location couldn't have been better - close to the pier and lower gardens, but it was still quiet at night. The hotel was clean, the restaurant and lounge areas were very modern and bright and the service was very pleasant. We had an evening meal one night and were pleasantly surprised by... More

As other reviews report, this hotel is very fine indeed, with top marks going to Charles in the restaurant, the chefs and the restaurant staff. Charles is well known to his clientele. So much so, that when I arrived on his day off, people were asking after him. He is so polite and humorous without going over the top. The... More

A warm welcome from Chris, who was very nice and helpful, once parking was sorted we went to the room. The room we were provided had a window on the service alleyway it would seem, it was very noisy with people going in and out... However the toilet was not clean and i had to report that to the reception,... More

A warm welcome and a restful and relaxing ambience. The food was outstanding with bread being home made on the premesis. A carefully curated dinner menu of locally sourced fresh ingredients- amazing value Staff were attentive and thoughtful. A hidden gem; I am sure we will return

Took my six year old daughter for a 4 night late summer holiday , utterly fabulous location next to the park,150 yards from the beach, easy and pleasant walk into town, parked the car on arrival and didn't use it again till we left! Lovely clean well appointed rooms, super breakfasts and lounge bar meals, every member of staff we... More

I have been coming to the Hermitage ever year since I was a young child as part of an event which is facilitated in the hotel. Staff are friendly, rooms are spectacular, and I love the little rubber ducks in the bath tubs which I always take home. I now have a nice row sitting in my bathroom! I believe... More

Whenever I return to Bournemouth, I wouldn't even consider staying somewhere else: the Hermitage ticks all the boxes! Its location can't be beaten: it's right opposite the promenade and adjacent to Bournemouth's Lower Gardens. The Pavilion is a five minute walk away. Perfect. The hotel itself is lovely; I stayed in a single room both times, both of which were... More

I booked this hotel because of the four star grading . Quite an impressive entrance and smiling receptionists, check in was faultless. Room was hot, heat coming from under the carpets too but I found a fan in the wardrobe thank goodness. Next ,but usually first job on my list is to check the bedding. A dubious looking duvet cover... Many thanks for your comments, sorry to hear that you felt the room was not clean and the bedding dirty, little unsure why you did not give us the opportunity to clarify your comments whilst you were here and why you would sleep in a bed that you suggest has not been changed. Our laundry is as you would expect,... More
