Well, the reality certainly did not live up to the expectation. We were attending a music concert in Bournemouth and booked this hotel because it was close to the venue and also because we fancied a bit of luxury for a change and thought that this hotel would provide it. The brochure classed it as a hotel ideal for honeymooners... more

What a shame, this hotel is such a disapointment. We arrived to the hotel which looks great from the outside. But when you go in its a different matter all together. You are greeted with a scruffy blondish old woman who looks like she doesnt even work there. Then she tells you off for even showing up to stay at... more

We stayed at the Internation for a 5 day break. I have now had a good look at other reviewers comments and find in the main that they must be more used to Premier Inns or Travel lodges. This hotel: 1) Is in a cracking position for both beach and town. 2) Clean and tidy. 3) Has good parking facility.... more

This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes stroll to the beach in one direction and a few minutes stoll to Bournemouth's lively town centre in the other. The hotel does a have a bar with a pool table and a (very out of tune) piano. There is also a garden to relax in with an outdoor... more

It was with some trepidation we set off on the coach to this hotel. We had booked a mystery coach tour and when a few days before the hotel details were given, we checked out the reviews on here. Seeing so many negatives we were a bit worried about what we would find. We need never have worried. The hotel... more

The Hotel was very pleasant and friendly! There was a beautiful swimming pool with bathing area, the hotel is central to all amenities and the staff went out of their way to help us. We did stay in a top room with panoramic sea view, however I would say some of the decorating needs attending to in the top corridors.... more

Going to Bournemouth every year since I was 5, and visiting the Bournemouth International Hotel every year since 2001, this is by far the best hotel my family and I have ever stayed in. The food is great, the views from the windows fantastic; sea views for no additional price! The staff are really friendly and are always approachable, making... more

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels but nothing I've experienced over the years could have prepared me for the horrors of the Bournemouth International Hotel. It was only when I got to Room 30 of this establishment that I discovered why the hotel is called the International. It's because international smoking competitions are held here - and when the... more

Management response from

Having read this review I had a detailed look at room 30. I cannot agree with any of the comments. The room is a family room with a double and two singles, it has a bright and clean bathroom. The bedspread is fairly new and does not have any cigarette burns. Since the smoking ban we have been a totally...
