I had heard good things about the Cumberland Hotel prior to booking our company Christmas party there, and this favourable opinion was reinforced on the night. The party was a great sucsess; as the staff all enjoyed the food, hospitality and general atmosphere of the hotel bar and restaurant. Despite being extremely busy the hotel staff seemed to take it... Took advantage of winter sale and stayed for a couple of days (Thursday & Friday). Found all the staff very polite and friendly. Faulty light bulb tripped out the electrics and was resolved within 20 minutes on our second evening. Had a sea view room which was well decorated but the floors were creaky and the bathroom needs attention -... More

A very nice hotel, well appointed in an art deco theme, I was upgraded to a family seaview room that had a magnificent view overlooking the coast, a very nice balcony which was a suntrap with the sun on it all day so even in the cold weather the balcony was lovely and warm. The room was a bit sparse... More

Stayed for a weekend break, location was great as room had a brilliant view of the sea. However the walls were a little thin and the floors were very creaky! Arrived to find a wedding was booked on the Saturday so was concerned about noise but never heard a thing. Breakfast was great with lots of choice More

We arrived Saturday night for my Company work's party and as a perk were able to stay at the hotel that night. On arrival, we could not find a car park space, even in the 2 sister hotels next door. We checked into the hotel absolutely fine, no problems at all. But when unpacking our belongings, we opened the wardrobe... More

Dear LJWitt, I can only re-iterate the apologies you have already received regarding the allocation of your room keys. I know you have already spent much time having the situation explained. For the benefit of the travelling community, I will once again explain. Your first allocated room had a genuine mistake in transfering the previous guests luggage which had already... More

Stayed for one night as we were attending a function there. We did get the room at a reduced rate as we were attending the function. Had we paid full price would have been very dissapointed with the room. You could hear the people in the room above every time they walked across the floor. The bathroom had an awfull... More
