We recently completed our second stay at the Cumberland Hotel Bournemouth. It was perfect. We had a garden room which was superb, the bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel. The ambiance and decor is so welcoming and relaxed as too as the staff, nothing is too much trouble. My Mum is a very... More

Started off not having a room near lift as husband disabled so had to go down to reception, they said they would look into it and send a porter to help move the cases, did not see a porter or anyone else had to go back to reception myself, was given another room by the lift, which was clean but... This hotel is on the cliffs of East Cliff overlooking the beach. it is a short walk down to the beach or town and there is also a cable car nearby to take you up or down to the beach. The hotel bar and restaurant are very modern and serve the most amazing cocktails and food and although not cheap... More

This is a really delightful hotel. The art deco style makes the communal areas very warm and inviting. Our large 404 room, however, was a bit dated and the radiator in the bathroom could not be turned off. This made the room quite hot during the day. Two fans were sent to the room which helped to cool the room... More

Dear Kim B, Thank you for your review. Good feedback regarding your recent stay with us. Some of the bathroom radiators cannot be 'off' due to hot water running through them. As you mentioned with the warm September days this is noticeable. We are doing what we can with them to eliminate this problem. We supply, Lux body/shampoos wash and... More

Lovely atmosphere around the pool and attentive staff. They had a 241 offer on main courses but we opted for the Club sandwich and the Halloumi sandwich which weren't included in the offer. Only complaint was that the bread was burnt on both and it slightly ruined the sandwiches but it wouldn't stop me going back. Would love to sit... More

I hired a corporate box for my parents diamond wedding celebration on the Saturday of the Bournemouth Air Festival. The venue was perfect with great views and centre stage for all the Festival action. The support I had from Lisa, the events manager was great. I was able to say what I wanted and it was sorted. No fuss, no... More

Wife and I were lucky enough to enjoy the Cumberland at its best in lovely warm weather when the ambiance around the pool was every bit as good as our favourite hotels in the Balearics. Heated pool (well, warmed a bit), comfortable sun beds and a charming bar area. The hotel's position is perfect, too, and the art deco ground... More

The ground floor is superb, restaurants both excellent, pool and bar great ,parking is OK despite previous comments as you can park in the 2 other sister hotels next door. Upstairs is dated and the walls a bit thin but all spotlessly clean and the chambermaids do a great job . Location is good, hire a bike down on the promenade and cycle... More

Have just stayed for 5 nights and will definitely do so again. We spent a lot of time in the pool and lazing around it so obviously the weather helped but I would be more than happy to stay in the winter. The public areas are excellently decorated and well maintained and the service is second to none. The food... More

Dear Jenny N, Thank you for your review. Good review all in all, and pleasing result that you will stay with us again. The music, we do choose a chilled out playlist, trying to stick to this genre. It is alternated from morning to afternoon and then evening time. The toiletries we supply are the Lux body/shampoo wash which is... More

It is Well worth coming to the hotel just for lunch. 2 for one made it really cheap. I had the fish pie which was delicious. The food was hot and very tasty. The service was excellent with attentive staff.
