Stayed at this hotel in November for the blues weekend. The hotel is maybe a bit tired but it was very clean and the staff were all excellent. The hotel is close to the beach and just a short walk from the town centre. Our room was comfortable and the bed was extremely comfortable. The whole weekend was excellent value... More

Our room was spacious and clean - the food was buffet style with good choice and quality. the staff were friendly hard working with the long hours asked of them. not the ritz I agree and a bit of tlc required but the friendly atmosphere and great entertainment and easy... Just back from a three night stay at The Heathlands where we were running a Boogaloo Blues Festival. We've run festivals at various hotels over the last 20 years or so, and have to say that this Hotel beats all the others for friendliness and customer service. Yes it could do with some refurbishment, but fabulous manager Florence and her... More

Stayed for a three night blues festival weekend, and can only say that this hotel was just great. Sure...it's well used, needs some renovations and updates perhaps, and not the Ritz but it was spotlessly clean with a welcoming atmosphere and the food great. What more do you need? My room (211) was fine, with comfy beds and a nice... More

Very basic rooms and could do with a good clean, car parking not great if the hotels busy. Could do with a complete refurbishment. Staff were pleasant and a short walk to beach just disappointed for a 2 night stay.

Just spent three nights at this hotel that had accepted two group bookings as well as other residents. Staff friendly but worked extremely hard. Food adequate but obviously based on very low cost and quality. Everything self service. Insufficient seating in lounge. New nets curtains but look behind then window sills and paintwork very dirty. Rooms very tired very basic... More

I suggest you read below before booking this hotel. When we arrived we were offered room 145, don’t take this room, it is a closet. We were moved to room 144 which although too warm was much more spacious, but did have a few comparatively minor problems. The first was that as the room was so warm (no thermostat) we... More

I just didn't understand this hotel. We stayed there for one night before getting a flight to the south of France. It was situated not far from the seafront. The sign at the front has completely disappeared. The hotel itself was very run down and dilapidated. The staff on the other hand were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend... More

We stayed here for two nights last week. OK it was a reasonably cheap deal, but the standard of the accommodation still fell far short. Sarah on reception is fantastic, so are the guys who look after the bar. The downstairs reception, seating, and bar area have great potential. They are spacious, light, and very pleasant, though very tired and... More

What a dismal old fashioned hotel. Tiny room even smaller bed. Will never venture here again - take this advice and stay anywhere else. Poor quality, hopeless staff there is nothing to say that is positive about this place.
