I entered the hotel from the back entrance and it was full of workman vans but couldn't see any evidence of work being done. Reception area really basic and grubby I walked up to desk and asked for my room key as my husband had checked in a few days prior they didn't ask for ID just gave me key... More

Outdated rooms and buildings. Minimal car parking space, and this is chargeable. For £3 per night I absolutely expect to be able to park in a proper space and not have to park blocking a pedestrian gate, as instructed by staff. Friendly staff. Did not use bar or restaurant as overpriced.

Shabby Place, and the staff is a bit shabby as well. We arrived here at a Saturday night, at about 12.00am. The same afternoon we had phoned the hotel that we would be later, due to some unplanned delays. They assured us it would be no problem at all. When we arrived there, they told us they were overbooked and... More

On arrival we checked in and was given our room, we paid extra for superior room (not worth it - only addition was dresser, flat screen tv and room a bit bigger, view was the same (compared to the other room we saw)) and the initial room we were given was defiantly not superior! We asked about it and the... More

When I pulled into the car park I was surprised at how many spaces there were available however when I got to reception it became obvious, the hotel had a high number of pensioners that had arrived in coaches, while waiting to get booked in I was nearly run down by a trio of electric mobility scooters. When I got... More

After booking online and full payment being taken we arrived at around 10pm to check in we were told there wasn't a room for us as they had double booked our room. Then were told we had been moved to there sister hotel, there was no option to cancel and go home as they had already taken our money. Why... More

Do Not Go Here For Family Breaks! Booked family room but was given a double as all family rooms were taken. Poor condition of the room - hanging wallpaper, old and blocked sink, water pressure terrible and changes from hot to cold, creaking floors, old windows and uncomfy bed. Breakfast and dinner were ok(ish) and cheap with self-service which we... More

Booked rooms for a group - here's a quick list of everything that's wrong with this Britannia hotel They over sell their rooms (told this by the staff) which resulted in us getting double rooms rather than the twin rooms we had booked (group of guys - not keen on spooning) T+Cs apparently state that the type of room can...
