Jul 3, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway New

We stayed at the Royal Bath for 2 nights in June to celebrate my 50th birthday. I went with 5 female friends and we had 3 twin rooms with sea views. We booked a few months ago so got a good rate. This is the third year running we have stayed there to celebrate a special birthday. We arrived on... more

We stayed at the Royal Bath for one night in a junior suite and were delighted with every aspect of our stay from start to finish. Our car was parked for us while we booked in and were dealt with by a friendly professional receptionist, once we reached our suite we were impressed by the fantastic view from our private... more

I recently visited The Royal Bath hotel for a wedding reception, and it was great to meet up with family, but the hotel was awful. The food we ate was appalling, my children ( who are not fussy eaters) ate nothing but bread, and what we ate was basic and cheap. Well that is certainly something you can not call... more

Don't be fooled by this hotel's self delusional grandeur. Stayed at this hotel 1 night last year and thought it wasn't toooo bad, thought we'd give it another go, but won't be staying there again. Our 'superior' room was pretty shabby and tatty. The paintwork and furniture had seen much better days, and desperately needed a decent paint job. The... more

Having just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel during half term I wanted to reitereate the comments from previous visitors. The hotel's location is excellent, the rooms are tired especially the bedrooms. We stayed in an executive room with sea view, you had to walk along squeeky corridors for approx 10 mins before coming to our designated... more

I recently returned from the Royal Bath after a half term trip with my young son and elderly mother. I had booked a suite to enable my Mother and I to have separate rooms to sleep in and also to allow us to put my son to bed and allow us to relax in the evening. I also requested a... more

I have had a similar issue to previous reviewers with the valet parking. It clearly doesn't work at this hotel, with the car sticking out onto the roundabout for over half an hour, and it takes 20 minutes or more for your car to be returned. When I arrived I was given a room that was possibly the furthest from... more

We stayed for a function and otherwise would probably not have chosen the hotel as it is a bit old-fashioned. Not a promising start as the valet parking was backed up and we had to leave our car sticking out into the road. According to our booking we had free valet parking included but first we were told at reception... more

Door lock/ swipe card did not always work. Could not open the windows and if you could once staff sorted them they advised me to wedge open with a pen. Brown water and rust came out of the bath tap. The shower was hard to control then eventually no cold water came out at all so i ended up burning... more

What to say? I stayed for 10 nights on a work trip with several colleagues. Positives: 1. The hotel itself is in a good location, right on the pier, with lots of shops and restaurants close by. 2. The price is not too expensive per night. 3. Free Internet; Negatives: 1. Very old hotel, needs some work, the floors are... more
