I stayed here with a colleague, the rooms were a long hike from reception, down into a basement type staircase, rooms were not clean, old fashioned and very small for a double room. We asked to be moved which happened the next day, the rooms were no better, small & pokey, old fashioned & miles away from front door at... More

I read reviews before we went on an organised dance weekend. I was worried that we may have made a mistake booking but...our room was clean and comfortable. The staff courteous. The restaurant manager helpful. The food was adequate but not really my taste. I didn't go hungry though. Loved Bournemouth and the hotel was in a perfect location to... More

We were impressed by the interior of the hotel, still elegant with original features. Creaky floors, pillars, wide halls, high ceilings. All part of the charm of this 176 year old building. Expect the knocks and deterioration of some parts of the hotel, how would you look at this age.The overall look of this hotel is growing old gracefully. We... More

Went to an arranged dance week-end, the hotel itself is very large and needs alot of TLC. One or two of the staff are positively charming (the restaurant manager is lovely) but the majority of the staff are unhelpful and in some cases downright rude. Our room had a terrible smell as soon as you opened the door and it... More

OK, we were there on a Boogaloo Dance Weekend, so our main interest was on the Dancing and Music [always good], but, the hotel was not as we were lead to believe it would be. OK the building does have 'some' dents, chips and scratches, but so does any publically occupied old building. And our room did overlook the main... More

In terms of positioning and size, The Royal Bath should be Bournemouth's premium/flagship hotel. But unlike its sister hotel in Brighton (which I am told has recently been refurbished) it could definitely do with a makeover. On first arrival, the hotel looks as grand as its name. Positioned on the slope just up from Bournemouth Pier, the gardens are impressive,... More

We went to our room to find the wallpaper peeling and the bathroom window had a crack from top to bottom and the frame was... More

We were transferred to this hotel from the Britannia after a bad experience. We had a package deal and upon arrival the staff members were quick to epaphise with our situation. They were very helpful and we were efficiently checked within minutes. A lovely gentlemen showed us to our room and helped with the buggy up the stairs and in... More

We went on Groupon overnight stay. First surprise was the £20 fee for the car park!!. Room was OK - we had requested disabled facilities and there were actually two bathrooms in the room - one for disabled use and one for normal. Afternoon tea was nice - finger sandwiches, scones and cake. Buffet dinner was appalling. We had better... More
