have not been to the Spyglass and Kettle for about 4 years because of bad food, it will be at least another 4 years before we go again. The only value for money was our Granddaughters Scampi & Chips and this was only because it was in the 2 for £10.00 meals with the pasta dish which was very poor... More

We stayed here for two nights. The decor is basic bordering on shabby but I was ok with that. Our room was of a good size, it didn't have a wardrobe and the TV was far too small. Bedding was very clean. The bathroom was not clean and the base of the shower scree was disgusting. The toilet was not... More

Decent pub and reasonable pub grub. Large place but the food was served promptly and was hot and tasty. You don't go here expecting a la carte and what you get is typical pub food at a decent price. We would go again if we found ourselves in the area.

The place was filthy, the food took forever and was not worth the wait, menu stated Jacket potato's cooked from fresh, yep that bit was true however 6 mins in a microwave was not enough it was hard and cold, rare steak was so rare it still had a pulse, waiter was polite but in definite need of deodorant, the... Restaurant - Order & pay at the bar, food served on wooden trays, staff off-hand, service lengthy & unapologetic, table sticky, salt cellar dirty, toilets shabby. Location lovely. Such a waste of potential - was a great pub about 10 years ago - vibrant, well appointed, friendly waiter service, great food. What happened??

Good beer: local selection, good wine list, good pub grub, plenty of cosy space, looks after families well with kids menu and toys. In summary, its a well run pub. Worth a visit if you're local or visiting the cliff top.

We had a one night stay in the superior double room. Basic but comfortable. Above the pub but wasn't a problem as the bed was probably the best we slept in a hotel, very very comfy bed!!!! Food was nice in the pub and good value. Very nice staff. A1

Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely cup of tea and good value menu. The club sandwich was very tasty. The rest of the menu looked equally good judging by the fare the rest of the lunchtime crowd were enjoying.Nice garden at the front of the pub looking out to sea from the top of the clifftop.

We stayed for 2nights over the weekend and used the room as a base. We paid £45 per night which included breakfast for both of us, meaning the room was technically £35 for the night. Rooms are basic, a little outdated but you have everything you need. En suite facilities, clean bedding and towels, wardrobe and TV, plus tea and... More
