I have just been to a stag do in Bournemouth and 16 of us stayed here. On arrival the bar staff demand credit card details straight away for a £500 deposit for damage to rooms etc. on the first night at around 3am in the bar area 2 members of our party had a drunken argument which didn't end up... A good pub with great food, friendly staff and happy customers. An all round good food pub with a good array of choice. We went in here a few times and was never disappointed. Not too far from the beach, We would totally recommend it to anyone at all.

Like the previous reviewer, this was my second stay at The Hop in 3 months. The last time was with some friends when we went to a concert at the BIC - only a 5 minute walk down the hill. The hotel is right in Bournemouth Town Centre so picks up passing trade from locals and holidaymakers as well as... More

I stayed here twice recently, in November and December and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. An excellent evening meal, a spotlessly clean room and a very hearty breakfast on both visits. Within five minutes walk of Bournemouth pier and the BIC. A great location for all the major attractions in the area.

I go to Bournemouth on a regular basis so have been here quite a few times in the past. It has always been ok, but on this occasion both me and my dad were very disappointed with our meals. I had a sirloin steak and chips, ordered well done, was pink when cut and sent back. When brought back to... More

We went as a last minute much needed break but seriously disappointed. Had to pay the balance on arrival when it is always on departure but could see why. - We were on the top floor and the staircase and handrails were extremely dusty & dirty, I didn't want to even touch them let alone hold on. - The sink... Avoid. Absolutely awful. Just an embarrassment to Bournemouth. We all felt ashamed bringing friends and family to this place... never again! Even the kids thought it was scruffy and dirty. The lager was disgusting and the white wine was warm. They need to clean the beer lines so people come back. Quite frankly it's a disgrace.

I didn't notice if there was a hygiene rating sticker in the window but if there was it should have been for 1 or fewer stars. The table top and place mat I was presented with at breakfast were both covered in beer stains, the breakfast bowl and milk jug looked as if they had been handwashed in last nights... More
