Went in for a meal but there was nowhere to sit. There were several empty tables with `reserved' on them. I asked if we could sit at one of those and were told by the waitress `I have reserved them!' We hung around for a while but nothing turned up. It was busy due to Bank holiday and a quiz... More

Just returned from superb 5 day break. Friendly welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble particularly Richard & Rachael. Hotel in fantastic location on the sea front and next to a little park, If you are a hotel snob or like something pretentious probably not for you, as communal areas a little tired, but lovely room, well furnished, clean, good size... Visited yesterday for a meal but after drinks decided against a meal as the venue was unclean. Not just durst carpets but window culls dirty and waitress used very dirt cloth to clean tables. Money needs tobe spent suc a shame as location superb

A chain hotel part of green king . However the hotel has a lovely character to it. Right on the beach in the Bournemouth area . The rooms at the front have a great sea view . Staff are friendly polite and welcoming . The hotel has very little parking , but the main road and side roads is unrestricted... More

This is a great place to stay - prime seafront location, excellent customer service and super food. Yes, some of the communal areas are a bit 'tired' decor wise, but rooms are spotless. This was my second visit, but not my last. Well done the team there.

In a nutshell: yes, Old and English! To put some meat on the bone: Part of the Greene King Old English Inn brand but it does not fit the image conjured up by this name. When you enter it is a bit of a shock. A cupboard style reception. Threadbare carpets, ancient rattling lift. The pub/restaurant area with bare wooden... More

....Comfortable but a little frayed around the edges. Was greeted by the very friendly and helpful Richard. Who helped me up to my pleasant room with dual aspect view of the stormy sea :) The bed was very comfortable and the dinner plate sized shower head was amazing! The carpets and paintwork in the communal areas are a little worn... More

The spectacular views across Poole bay take in Swanage to the West and Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight to the East. The Commodores location, close to the New Forest, and Bournemouth town centre, makes it an ideal base from which to explore Hampshire and Dorset. In the early 50's an extension was added and it became Crawford's Bar and Hotel. Not long after that, it became The Commodore Hotel. A very popular holiday location. There is limited car parking provided by the hotel but ample on-street car parking within a few minutes walk. ... more   less
