Stayed in November so it was quiet but still a good atmosphere in the pub.mgreat choice of beers and the one meal we had in our three night stay was excellent and reasonably priced. Very close to the town (5 mins to the bottom of the main St) and has parking which is a must in Totnes!

Poor value for money. Charged £84 for a double ensuite for a single night. Beware of a £5 charge for only staying for one night over the weekend. Small noisy room without a view. Cheap coffee provided in room. I would be happy to pay £50- £55 per night but in my opinion this place is way overpriced. Could hear... More

I am shocked to read this review and most offended that you would choose to put on the internet that we are a ''charmless couple'. You were clearly very hungover yesterday morning, it was quite obvious, there could be no other reason to put such a nasty comment. I took payment from you and I know that I was polite... More

The Old Forge has received some close to rave reviews. It is very much what it says on the tin – a B&B, so don’t expect much apart from a comfy if not large room, and a large (if you want it) and enjoyable breakfast. The garden looked to be an ideal spot for a cream tea on a Summer... More

Thank you for the review. As mentioned in previous reviews and responses, some of our rooms are not huge because of the age of the building. It is an Old Forge and buildings like this were built for working in. Our prices are in line with most quality B and B's in this area and with the standard of linen,... More

Lovely old building in a quiet lane, grocer's on the corner, parking, much thought has gone into the place (e,g, note on the wall telling me where a spare key is if I lock myself out), superb breakfast, comfortable room. Very highly recommended. One small gripe, Do the (mainly elderly) guests really want pop music at breakfast?

What a pleasure it was to find The Old Forge Inn at Totnes. We were in town for a comedy night and wanted somewhere local to stay. The Old Forge Inn is in the town and everything is less than a 5 minute walk. Very clean rooms, parking and a good breakfast all excellent. In addition they have a "secret... More

We were recommended to stay here by a friend who has family living nearby and we weren't disappointed.. Rooms were immaculately clean (yes they are small but it is an Old Forge - not sure what some people expect), the bathroom had clearly been recently refurbished and there was tea & coffee making facilities. I'm easy to please as long... More

I arrived at the Old Forge late at night; even so, the proprietor was still up (I'd been given a fall-back solution in a case reception was closed), and so I was in and in my room in a trice. As previous reviewers have said, the rooms are smallish, but sweet, clean and in good decorative order. Quiet too... the... More

After a few years of coming to Totnes I still believe that the Old Forge is excellent value of money. The rooms are always spotless and kept up to date, the breakfast never fails to let me down, and the hotel is in the perfect location being next to town and not next to a main road! I love the... We stayed here earlier in august and it was truly delightful, we arrived quite late at night but arrangements were made for us to collect the keys and it was a very easy and stressful arrival. We found our way to our room which was small but what can you expect from a 600 year old building ! We loved... More

We had the garden room, which was "cute & quaint", just don' try to swing a cat !! The room is neat, clean well equipped & comfortable, but very small. I would assume the "King size bed"rooms have more space, but this is a converted old forge after all. Breakfast was great. The Old Forge is well positioned, in a... More
